The fighting between both of the fandoms has always been dumb and it's been going on for YEARS. As someone who is a hardcore bratz fan and longtime collector I can proudly say that MH hit it out of the park with this release. I love MH as well and I'm excited to get myself a set of them. I just wish the fighting would stop lol they're just dolls 😭

The fact that this has been going on for years is even more mind boggling to me💀💀💀. I just didn’t understand chile🤧. And same! MH def ate with the repro release for sure 👏🏾👏🏾

I never really understood the comparisons either. But I think what caused it back when Monster High was really popular was MGA released Bratzillaz and I remember the drama that caused in the doll community! 😂 I don’t understand why people are still comparing them and fighting about them now though. It seems like now it’s just people who will defend whichever company they prefer no matter what. But it’s like, just buy and support the dolls that you like and move on. I don’t get it.

Being born in 2001 I grew up with both! I adore them both and wish that the fandoms would relax on some of the stuff they say and do.

As someone who primarily collects Bratz, I adore MH and the creativity behind the line. It’s totally different from Bratz and each line shines brightly in their own way. I’ll never understand putting them against each other. Though, the best thing about doll companies competing against each other is that we get amazing doll lines out of it♥️

I really like what you had to say here, and I agree with you. I really like how you kept it real. I feel like a lot of the things you said are things that a lot of people are thinking but maybe haven't said out loud, and I appreciate that. 🙂 I completely understand where you're coming from when talking about MH versus brats. I think the main reason why they get pitted against each other is because Monster High was an answer to Bratz much in the same way that Bratz was an answer to Barbie. So I think the rivalry was actually started by Mattel and MGA.
@TheOfficialBunnyBoo2 жыл бұрын

Fierce competition leads to better dolls, IMO. I can see you started with MH 2017, maybe that explains a bit of yours comment about MH's quality. You are right about the clothing materials, Bratz wins. I feel that MH is more a direct competitor to RH and SH in 2022, solely based on Bratz not being MGA's leading brand.
@TheOfficialBunnyBoo2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for providing this perspective! I did some in late in the game with collecting MH for sure. I can also see how the direct competitor this time around would be Rh and even shadow high👏🏾

The thing about MH dolls vs Bratz honestly... at this point in time all we have to do is one thing to see what dolls were better made. Go find one of your Bratz from back in the day, she will be in pretty much the same condition as the last time you played with her. Now get one of those MH dolls, by this point the glue seepage from their head should be so bad the hair is like a rock and her whole scalp should be stained a dingy yellow. Can't believe Mattel got away with that
@TheOfficialBunnyBoo2 жыл бұрын

They’re two completely different doll lines so it’s always been so weird when they’re compared to one another. Bratz are more fashion based dolls where as monster high are more character based, if that makes sense.

I guess I'm team MH (even though I collect both). I think the main reason is that I didn't start collecting brats when they came out, I wasn't into collecting dolls at that time, and initially I didn't like that their feet pop off. Later when I actively started collecting dolls, Monster High was the biggest doll line out there, and I really liked the articulation above everything else. I also really liked the colors, and just like you pointed out the depth in the characters I really enjoyed.
@TheOfficialBunnyBoo2 жыл бұрын
Yes! MH definitely brought lots of character individuality to the table which reallllyyy persuaded me into collecting them👏🏾✨
@quiqueenb2 жыл бұрын
Agreed with everything said. Bratz reboot was a little messy considering how iconic they were and to be honest if MH didn't learn from that then they would've been the same. I appreciate both lines for the impact they've had and I really hate how petty people can be when it comes down to all of these different doll lines. Honestly they all have had their moments of success and flops but they've all had an impression which should be praised and not compared. Great video! Look forward to your future doll chats.

Yeah, I love both lines! I wasn’t collecting either doll line during the era of lawsuits between MGA and Mattel. So I might not understand as well… I think it’s just people holding onto that war and picking a side. Like which company do they want to support. I don’t really care about the companies. I just want the dolls. I guess good for MGA and Mattel not wasting money on lawsuits anymore and both just producing great products! It’s good to have a competitor to up ones game, rather than take out the competition… If it forces both of them to make better products that’s great!

Personally as a 24 year I've enjoyed seeing all & owning the eras of new dolls throughout my life. I truly believe these are hardcore mattel vs mga people who were projecting through Bratz & Monster High since it's really an apples to oranges comparison. The only link you can make is that they are both sold as fashion dolls & they both promote diversity & social causes (through various lines & media) to their intended audience. Bratz dolls are on the pulse fashion dolls meant to reflect the world around us. MGA as a whole tends to gear towards current fashion trends with most of their fashion doll lines which is why they were able to grow so effectively as a brand. They take risks which I appreciate. Monster High dolls were never intended to focus on current fashions (besides anything pulled for them from the early 2010's as a fashion era is quite questionable to be nice about it) & were meant to be a lore based line. This helped sell the characters & it's the same for EAH. Mattel has struggled to reflect the current fashions of the 2000's onward in Barbie without taking them too far where they seem tacky, making them ten years too late or having them be overly cheap within their playline dolls. Although the clothes are cheaper made than Bratz, Monster High didn't need to be grounded in to much realism fashion wise since why would the monster's want to dress like "Normies". It definitely gave designers more freedom to establish clothing that could be more costumy or campy & still sell because the characters are what you wanted. They're more fantasy dolls in my opinion and I like that. I feel like if done right they could promote Monster High as more fashionable this time by updating the fashions & marketing them under spooky aesthetics (Examples: Y-Boo-K, E-Ghoul, Dark/Light Aca-Screamia, Clottage Gore ect). I'm a strong believer in not limiting how many lines you can love since you love each one for different reasons. I'm definitely not going to blindside myself to a line's faults either since if it's a bad doll or release then it is. That flawed line may be someone's holy grail & that's also fine. I love Barbie, Bratz, My Scene, Monster High, Ever After Higb, L.O.L. OMG, Rainbow High ect. No one can tell me my love for one lessens or invalidates my love for another. I'm not sure if anyone will agree but I feel like if care was put into the Enchantimals line it could have popped off for Mattel the way MH & EAH did. There's was a massive downturn in both the dolls & webisodes which was massively frustrating since they were actually a cute & cool concept. Drop some of your favorite characters below!! Some of mine are Theresa & Nichelle [any doll they've used the name for since there's a few different sculpts w/ the name & they're all stunning] (Barbie), Yasmin & Roxxi (Bratz), Madison & Delancy (My Scene), Kiyomi Haunterly & Venus McFlytrap (Monster High), Raven Queen & Cerise Hood (Ever After High), Goldie Twist & Fly Gurl (L.O.L. OMG), Georgia Bloom & Heather Grayson (Rainbow/Shadow High).

You know you are right monster high is more of a costume fashion doll and bratz dolls are fashion dolls. Hear me out not everyOne would wear a monster high outfit on a regular day. Bratz has more of a realistic look and fashion outfit. And i know bratz makeup are dramatic but the fashion aren’t I mean we all have at lease a pair of jeans or sneakers in out real life. Granted monster high is more of a Theater cosplay outfit. At the end of the day they are plastic and we love them. We can lightly talk shit bout them. But once’s it gets violent and ignorant then that’s when ppl need to chill the fuck out. Granted I talk shit all the time but I always end up buying the dolls , because im a doll collector. Bratz will always be Number 1 in my life but im open for other dolls as well.

I'm a huge MH fan but I love both dolls a lot. Yes, they're both pretty much fully articulated fashion dolls, however, they both have a different life to them. For one, I feel like they target different audiences. There is overlap but they still target one more than the other. To state the obvious, Bratz dolls are humans and MH dolls are monsters (except Jackson who is half human). Bratz gives people a chance to see themselves in a light that is more close to home while MH dolls... you can see yourself but in a different way compared to Bratz BECAUSE MH dolls aren't human. Another huge difference is the fact MH dolls are more personalized. Bratz have personality but MH dolls come with diaries that give the characters innermost thoughts and feelings. MH also has novels, comics, web series, movies, and a whole other universe (EAH) that plays a big part in the MH canon. Bratz lets their fashion do the talking. They have movies and series but their target focus is on what the fashion says about them. MH is big on fashion but they let the character shine through their personality more than their fashion imo. Fashion. They're fashion dolls. Bratz fashion is very Y2K and pulls from the late 90s to early 2000s. MH pulls from 2010s gothic, emo, punk, vkei, and scene culture. They're from 2 different and vibrant fashion eras that should be appreciated for their own special style, not compared. Not sure on the side of Bratz but Garrett Sanders, one of the creators of MH, said he loved Bratz dolls. I'm pretty sure he also owns a couple. Really the only comparable thing (besides QC) is their core values, something of which I DON'T think should be compared. MH and Bratz, at their very core, are about loving yourself and accepting others. Diversity is important in both universes and I don't see why we should pit them against each other. If both preach diversity then I don't see why we shouldn't be happy that we have all these uniquely wonderful doll lines out.

I like both MH and Bratz. But I have to be honest if we are comparing their comebacks rather than the dolls itself. One thing that I have to say is that Monster high is a doll brand that actually acts like a doll brand and are on a roll with their releases. Bratz on the other hand are currently acting like a high end brand. (Notice I didn’t type ‘doll’ next to brand) When it comes to who’s doing better as a doll brand, I would say Monster high. Bratz future plans are all about collaborations, actually we don’t really hear much about them bc their pr team are a total bust. Monster high future plans are already written on paper, we got a movie coming, an animated cartoon, the reproductions were successful in terms of availability, accessibility and quality and we are getting new dolls later in the year. Mattel just seems to be more productive. And I do agree about Bratz having better fashion but the thing is with MH is that it leans more toward creativity when it comes to their fashion rather than what is in trend. Monster high likes to combine traits from creature/monsters or their respective origins into fashion in a very creative and artistic way. That’s why I agree on that point that they can’t be compared since both brands do not share similar concept especially since one of them is all about classic horror monsters interpreted as fashion dolls.
@shadows64112 жыл бұрын
Adding to my last point, I think it is why it’s difficult to argue or why there is not much argument about MH having bad fashion or having no diversity since clearly they are dolls based on mythical creatures/ horror monsters.
