Part 2 of many of the Dollar General body work on my 1974 GMC Suburban. The last video, we used expanding foam and flex seal.. the foam worked well, the flex seal not at all. I go through, peal out most all of that flex seal and do what I should have done to be gone with and foam it.
Passenger side gets very complete (body work) in this video. Doors are adjusted, fiberglass filler (a lot) of fiber glass filler gets used, sanded off, reapplied, sanded off-typical body work life cycle, cheap and as simple as I can do it.
I also cave and have to break out my dual action sander. I purchased a orbital sander from Harbor Freight in hopes that it would work to sand down the filler and paint, however I ended up buying the stick on sandpaper and the orbital sander was Velcro with no other attachments.. just goes to show do your homework when purchasing new tools!
Stay tuned as this projects comes together. Hope to have it wearing a good couple healthy coats of paint soon and for as cheap as I can do it!
