I posted on my community tab asking my subscribers what 10 items i should grab and i picked one. All items was chosen from Tommy brown a loyal subscriber. I did this to do something different and put my faith in my subscribers. I wish i would of done this when it was warmer out. The weather when i started was around 20 degrees and when i finished it was only 5 degrees and snowing bad storm came in. This made for a epic winter survival challenge.

Great job Tyler 👍. Not the easiest of conditions to deal with. The shelter took a beating but I'm sure with a little more reworking it would hold up fine.

Cool take on this challenge! A Super Shelter might of helped with the cold. If they had it at your Dollar Store a mylar sun shade and a clear shower curtain liner would help creating one. Still, since it was subscriber based a smaller shelter could of helped keep it warmer with those items. Then, adding leaves into one of those garbage bags to get you off the ground. Well, at least you survived the night with the items you were provided.

This is cool. Have done it many times while laying out in the mountains when younger. Digging ginseng, hunting, fishing...etc.

@@TylerWoodBushcraft squirrel season always overlapped ginseng season in KY/TN so worked out fine. We could make squirrel dumplings while camping. Fish soup. Years of practice and family tips. Buy the cheap canned biscuits to use as dumplings. Easier to pack.

surely using the card from the packaging would be good for a fire starter!. the shelter is flimsy. putting a hole in the shower curtain, bit of wind & a rip forms. why not wrap some of the curtain around a pole. then place pole in 2 Y shaped poles. then use stones at other end. you end up with a wedge shape shelter!.

Using standing trees for supports is one idea, duct tape instead of rope to hold the shelter poles together would work depending on the shelter material available etc.... 🙂

@@TylerWoodBushcraft no sir! if you had made a ridge line a frame you could have use sticks snow and other stuff to stop the air gap. smaller shelter would have been easier to keep warm as well.
