These actually might be from unrealized stock. it usually goes like that - when you fail to sell amount of meat - remainders are basically considered wasted. But they still haven't gone bad, but will in a few days - instead of throwing them you use a solution which kills most of bacteria in them (vinegar 9% with lots of spice works as classic one) and prevents new rot bacteria growth for some time and then they're good to go for another 2 weeks to a month, depending on how much you crank up amount of the solution. Hence why these are only a dollar.

Yeah, that's fairly expensive for pork with bones in it, and not even fresh. Sort of refreshing that some Dollar Tree frozen food isn't bad. There's good food at Dollar Tree, but it's things like long-grain rice, dried beans, pasta, canned tomatoes, and so on: nothing one can really review in an amusing way. I'd be hard pressed to make a good dinner entirely from ingredients bought at Dollar Tree: that might be an interesting challenge. (Some ingredients would certainly be overpriced, others quite reasonable.)

That was a surprise, maybe the people at Dollar Tree are finally watching your videos an getting better meat...maybe? It's sad that Dollar Tree really targets poor families who'll buy those riblets thinking they are getting a bargain when they could get a better deal and better meat at the supermarket or meat market.

Yeah but it's hard to buy a dollars worth of ribs at the regular store. Or two dollars worth. They always have larger packages. So you could get off cheap and have ribs if you only had a couple of bucks with this at least.
@BenjaminGessel
@BenjaminGessel 6 жыл бұрын
@@gabrielpowers766 I think ribs are something that shouldn't cost more than $25-$30 or so, for quite a decent amount, enough to feed a few (adult) people at least... At least beef and pork ribs, etc. are cheaper than salmon/shrimp/halibut, etc., esp. pork. Fish is just WAY darn too expensive... Makes me mad that so many people have to put up with cod and canned tuna/fish all the time... 😠

Ty from us the people, I was a homeless line cook and saw these real meat pkgs, but nowhere to cook cuz boss wouldn't let us.. but I still wouldn't buy it for $1, I did buy the riblets and stuff cuz heated at gas station, once got an apartment started buying scraps from butcher, got 5 lbs scrap meat for $2 at time, once became executive chef, a home I got my kids back, I pass it on, and I deal with same butcher, he helped when I was down👍

I have to say these ribs are surprisingly GOOD. I actually got them after watching this video. I cooked mine in the toaster oven @ 400 for 45 min - added some BBQ sauce - then grilled for 30 min. I would give them an 8 based on taste but docked down to a 7 because I'm high and 2 packs isn't enough. Still a good deal for $1 and far superior to that GARBAGE by Pierre.. Thanks WP and keep the videos coming - perhaps you can do Wal-Mart's Great Value "Turkey Dressing Bake" which is basically a good Thanksgiving meal for $1.88

*Note* There is sugar. If you notice, one of the ingredients is fructose(a sugar). In the US if the value comes out to less than 0.5g they are allowed to say 0g. Though I'm still pretty impressed that there's less than 0.5g considering most cheap, processed food has loads.

I have worked with the same cut of meat before (chine bones) they are on the spine of the pig are part of the vertebrae I have used these in at least 3 different restaurants I have worked in (not the same brand) but uncooked and I have seen them cut up and deep fried in Asian foods sauced and grilled for "American bbq" and baked like you did they aren't super meat but like you said a generally tasty piece of meat ( I personally like them deep fried and tossed with salt and pepper) another great video keep em coming!!

I use those beef steaks to make a small pot of vegetable soup for just myself. They work great. Also the ribs I put on the grill for just me. They work out good too because I don't want leftovers and I don't want to spend money on large packs of meat for the freezer. I live small with an 11 cubic ft. fridge. Sometimes I use these single wrapped servings for camping when I want to pack light. The fish works out great for this too, especially the salmon wrapped on foil with butter, lemon, and thinly sliced potatoes or vegetables. Yum.

You are right about the beef patties, though. They are awful. I even tried them on the grill and as taco meat with seasoning. The veggie burgers are a better bet. Try the chops for a BBQ pork sandwich. Not too bad and a good size for a bun.

I will have you know that Pierre's boneless pork riblets are fantastic as someone who ate "in the system" everyday, there's no better barbecue flavor or, if you cook it right, spongy meatball crunch than Chef Pierre. When I first tried them they blew my mind. Of course about a year and quality seem to go down they change their packaging and for some reason that flavor went back up, from those plastic bowls to a paper card. Perhaps it affects cooking, perhaps it was just the amount of freezer burn.
