Thank you for trying their products. I’ve been wondering. And I wanted to know about quantities needed for each mold. Resin is pricey. Thanks again.
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
I’ve not compared the price to other resins, but I felt like this project was a little pricey overall. It was fun to try though, and I will probably do it again.

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been watching lots of videos to get started as well.

You might want to flatten your flowers or leaves before using them. You can leave them overnight in a heavy book then you have them flattened and ready to use with the epoxy.
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I will definitely try that!

in addition to this i would suggest "gluing" the flowers in place by pouring a very thin layer of resin and placing the flowers in, then letting it cure for a few minutes until it becomes tacky. after that you can pour the rest of the resin. it helps keep the flowers from floating, and it works on stuff like sequins/glitter as well. i have only recently begun experimenting with resin but this worked for me :)

Hi thank you for sharing this. I can’t find any of this where I live. These are at the dollar tree?

It’s a great place to start! I love Amazon and hobby lobby and sometimes Michael’s/Joann 🫶 Have fun, I wear a respirator to be safe with my 2 part resins 🙋♀️

Great first try. I think it looks great but yeah it can get expensive to make a full set of 4.

Yes! And there are usually at least 8 people at our house at all times so I like to have 10 of everything on hand in case an extra friend comes along!!

Take it from someone who is a beginner also in resin but has a little experience in epoxy resin I am currently a employee with Dollar tree and our resin has a very fast curing time so my advice for anyone who works with Dollar tree resin be sure to do add ins very quickly along with your finally pours. I made coasters with that resin an before I could finish adding layers of colorant it had already started curing

Great video - 👍🏽💯

You could modpodge flowers in place, then add resin.

Please use proper protective gear such as respirator and gloves. Take it from someone who has damaged lungs and only used 2 part epoxy on occassion. It certainly made my breathing condition worse.
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
Thank you for that! I didn’t even think about it

Absolutely. Lung damage here too. That stuff is bad news.

I think u should have done it on the other side of the mold It’s deeper for the dried flowers
@ingridcastillo1303 Жыл бұрын
hello, when you sand, doesn't it make the resin opaque though?
@starrwilson6818 Жыл бұрын
I believe if you buff it after, it shines it right up.
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
I actually never ended up sanding the back of it. My daughter loved it and claimed it as hers right after it came out of the mold. But I do plan on making another one and if it needs sanded I will let you know!

What dollar tree did you get this from?
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
I believe it was Kingsport, TN. I picked it up before Christmas, but they still have it if I’m not mistaken. Some items can be ordered online if your local store doesn’t have them in stock.

Back it with black felt and the colors will pop!
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I will try that.

Sorry if this is a silly question but what exactly do you mean by backing it with black felt?
@3catkids Жыл бұрын
@@MommaNurse You glue black felt to the back of them. 😀 Are you trying to be my husband who would ask the same silly question? 🤣🤣

Please make sure to ventilate the area and wear gloves that stuff can be pretty harmful and apparently side effects or show up a bit later after exposure bringing confusion to as what’s causing the breathing issues .

Nicely done. This is definitely NOT your first time using resin. You knew way to much….lol…it might be your first time using resin on KZbin…lI get it…lol😊

😅 I’m definitely a “prepper” and tried to watch a lot of videos before attempting it. But this was the one and only time I actually did it myself. I’m working on getting my she shed together and have several more projects in mind!

In Canada dollar tree won't sell good stuff I wish they sell here too
@maggiekdesignco Жыл бұрын
I didn’t know they didn’t sell this stuff in Canada 😳 you may be able to see if you can order it on their website and have it shipped, but they usually have a minimum number of items that you have to purchase.

Your not supposed to demoed projects for at least 24 hours unless it fast cure.
