DOLLAR TREE USA Patriotic Bandana Wreath - Wreath DIY - Easy DIY

Hello everyone,
I wanted to create a USA patriotic wreath and when I was shopping around the Dollar Tree, I saw these red, white, and blue bandanas and I knew right away I wanted to do this wreath.
With just these bandanas and some wooden stars, this wreath was created.
MATERIALS USED:
14" Wire wreath frame
Red bandanas - 6 20"x20" squares cut to 10"x20"
Blue bandanas - 6 20"x20" squares cut to 10"x20"
White bandanas - 6 20"x20" squares cut to 10"x20"
Wooden stars
Acrylic paint - white
Glue gun
Glue Sticks
Scissors

This is my first try at making a wreath, I loved this one and it was so simple. Well, my bandanas are 1 inch 21X21 so the ends are a little floppy so it makes it looks like there is a gap between each one (on the outer) instead of how yours is. It's still cute but any suggestions on how I could tighten it up? Should I cut the bandanas down by an inch or so? Thanks, I just subscribed to your channel because I love your creations and the way you explain them.

Hi Scarlett, thank you so much for such a wonderful message and for watching and subscribing. I really do appreciate it. Welcome to my little corner of the YT world. You could always put a little dab of hot glue or white glue to glue the pieces down close together. That may solve that issue. Or you could cut down the ends of the bandanas to make them a little more shorter and they'll stand up. Another tip I have heard (but I haven't tried this yet to know for sure) is to use hairy spray to make the fabric stiffer. Again, I haven't tried that so I'm not sure if the hair spray would ruin the fabric or not. But I haven't heard people use it and work. Hope that helps a bit.

It only took 3 packs of the bandannas to make that wreath? Also have you ever done a tutorial with the star wreath frame, or the ribbon wreath frame?

Hi there, yes, it did only take 3 packs. Each pack had two bandanas in it, so there is six in total. And I also cut them down into smaller pieces. I am going to be doing a July 4th Patriotic star wreath in the future. 😊

Can this be used as outside deco?

Hi Fran...I would not use this outside (exposed to the elements). It is just a thin fabric and the sun and rain would fade the fabric and make it sag. I am displaying mine inside a storm door and my exterior door. If your porch is covered, you may be okay to display this on your front door. Thanks. 😃

I wanted to make this wreath so bad last summer but could never find the bandannas. (That didn’t cost $40-$50!!!) Not in town or online. I’m going to start looking again this spring in February or March and see if I can find them. I loved this wreath!!!

Hi Linda, check out the Dollar Tree as they have packs of two for $1.50. It is much cheaper than buying them online. Hope you find them.
