Trevor Horn in 1981... no Auto Tune, just a Fairlight, a pitchable Studer Multitrack Machine, Lexicon Reverb, Eventide and an SSL Console.... that's what is music production is all about... a genius !!!
@myblueextremes15262 жыл бұрын
Haha, you're right, no auto tune. Just the most expensive and capable sampler/sequencer available at the time, a pro studio level tape machine, the highest of high end reverb and harmoniser of the time and a super expensive desk made in Oxford. Not to take anything away from Horn but you make it sound like Horn was using really primitive equipment. 😀
@LeighRichards27 Жыл бұрын
@@myblueextremes1526compared to now it was 'primitive' you pompous self important oaf!
@myblueextremes1526 Жыл бұрын
@@LeighRichards27 Name calling aside, I think you misread the tone of my post. It was tongue in cheek. The original poster made a comment about how the song was 'just made with...' and then mentions (arguably) every piece of state of the art equipment that was available at the time. The fairlight in itself cost £30,000 for the 1982 version. It was just a fun comment about the technology that was available at the time. As I said, not to take nothing away from Trevor Horn as he did some amazing work with what was available, in the same way people today use the technology of today. Like it or not, Auto Tune included.

Yet another superb production from Trevor Horn. He was/still is the British Phil Spector, an instantly recognisable sound, full of trademark hooks.
