I don't know how I feel about this being added in WT. This is just AA missile, but still it can wreck ships, especially at around 4.0(I was playing against 5.0++ vessels). Now imagine how powerful would be dediscated anti ship missile... I hope they wont start adding more of these type of weapons systems because that would wreck naval. I hope you guys having a nice day/night 💪🏻

Hey Mr. Plays, Its Anzio_Sp (the guy in Bartolomeo Colleoni) I really gotta apologize for being spastic in that match. I was pissed off because after determining where the missiles were coming from (thanks to gaijin's 6km render distance limit for Coastal vessels), the kill logs gave the impression you had J'd out (8:35); but now seeing it from your POV, its obvious now this was an occurrence of gaijin's servers doing the thing they seem to be good at.

The thing about these missiles is they're supposed to be SARH, not beam riding like they are in game. The Douglas should not be able to engage ships with its missiles at all.

Naval is already wrecked the moment you hit 4.0 and get sucked into the Moffett black hole that is 5.0. At least this and the Saetta having missiles gives coastal its own niche instead of frigates that are worse than destroyers in every single way while costing 20,000 SL to repair at the same BR.

They're gonna be putting 80s destroyers with ASGMs and CWIS against Yamato and Bismarck because Yamato and Bismarck fanatics will just suffer through it, and the destroyer players will just yolo around like headless chickens, and Gaijin will get their blessed 50/50 winrate and say its perfectly fine. If you see this Dollar, I have university and industry experience with game design, and I've interacted with enough "management professionals" and "stakeholders" to know exactly whats going on. I would love to talk to you about community action to motivate the playerbase to stop giving up on change every time a new vehicle is added. The playerbase is being financially abused because we all just desperately dont want to stop playing the only option available, and we need to stand up and convince gaijin that they would see a lot fewer players quitting and a LOT more players coming back if they just made the game less torturous. They're stuck in some kinda soviet mindset and dont seem to realise that all they're doing is slowly killing their own game.

whats even worse, is that it gets the wrong missile. It gets RIM-24As when it should get RIM-66s. Which means they can launch at both and destroy both very efficiently

Sadly Douglas didn’t have the proper systems for RIM-66s so it would’ve had either AGM-78s or RGM-66Ds. As well Douglas had storage for 1 reload per tube.

​@@hrunchtayt1587 AGM-78s in US service were mainly air deployed from F-105s, A-6s and A-7s. RGM-66Ds are RIM-66Bs made for anti-ship combat, without the ability to hit planes. So basically the USS Douglas had RIM-66s. Source for the RGM-66D part is well Raytheon itself, the "creators" of the RIM-66 (there was a second company that made it, they just got incorporated into Raytheon)

Nah, Hrutchta is partially correct. If you look it up the only missiles ever equipped to the USS Douglas were ARM-78's, which are anti-radiation missiles. Even if those box launchers could properly fire the RIM-24 or RIM-66 (which they can't), the ship just doesn't have the radars or computers needed to guide them so they'd be completely useless. If anything, Gaijin could stretch the truth ever so slightly and replace them with Bullpups, which other Asheville-class gunboats were equipped with (I wouldn't be surprised if those ships get added into the tech tree or as an event vehicle eventually).

That's the awesome things about ships... Even though he slapped the conning tower killed the commander and all the staff.... The ship still kept coming at him, the engine crew and AA gunners where still in it! It's just epic... Your ship can be disabeled and instead of just stopping... You have like 30 seconds of drift... To angle, that is huge! So much fun, I love Naval Warfare Edit: all these missles and stuff make me worry... Unless they are all or nothing AP rockets they should be superficial nothing burger HE rockets. Edit Edit: The ships and there relation to the water... Well just the water in general needs improvement... See World Of Warships Gaijn

yea i think if they allowed ships aa/secondaries, to be able to shoot at the missiles as well it would dampen their effectiveness, i really do think they should be higher br than they are, it would give some nice patrol boats that could go up agaisnt the later tiers of battle ship, as it need a level of skill to know when to launch the rockets like say sweep their decks of machin guns so your rockets could get threw, or you wait till they are focused on something else like aircraft
