I'm taking it you are new to the area. I worked at Dollywood 2016 and 17. We had a couple of these flash flood incidents. That store always got flooded. The pond at the mill always ran over. But the funny thing is, I would be working in a store full of guests, and someone always walked up to me and asked, "What times is it supposed to stop raining." 😆

@@bcl5667I think it’s all on your insurance company to pay for the damage done to the car. Since every time my family rented a car, the car rental place, always ask about what company we use for car insurance. Which stinks when the damage was completely out of your control. But the insurance company did get on my dad’s case for having too many claims, even though all of the damages were done by the weather, like hail damage. This was done on his own car, not a rental one.

Pigeon forge and gatlinburg get flash floods plus or minus five times a year to varying degrees. Usually the weather channels are good at telling you when it will happen there. If they say it will, believe them and get to high ground or be ready to hunker down where you are for a few days if need be. Ask locals if where you are normally floods, but if you are next to a creek it's a possibility.
