As a counterpoint to the question answered around 9:30, is a friar like a monk? Yes. That's exactly what friars were. Historically they lived in a friary, also known as a monastery, and they were exactly what you would expect from a traditional monastic order. Friars and their organization were not limited to a single temple, whereas a classic monastic order was a single temple.

Thanks, I’m happy with that particular decision! I very much regret allowing player assignment of scores in past campaigns. 4d6 drop lowest is plenty generous as is, and down the line yields interesting and unexpected character builds.

This was fun to watch! I'm a young gamer who's just getting into old-school stuff. I'm watching this series partially to get a feel for what old-school games are like. The tension presented by resource management actually seems quite promising and engaging to me. I was wondering if Matt actually meant to be aligned with Harrowmoor or not, because it seemed like he wanted Murkin at first and he was talking about Harrowmoor's shield as if it had Murkin's design. But I'm sure it'll be settled when I watch the next episode...

That’s correct. Dolmenwood is now a complete game, and you need nothing else to play it. At the time these sessions were played, Dolmenwood was merely a setting that required the OSE rules to play. That’s no longer the case.

Do you have a link for the armor and weapon table you used? I love the idea how it greatly improves weapons for martial classes. Only one I would be concerned about is the surprise attacking rogue.

are the rules you use for hexcrawling, movement, camping and such homebrew rules or pasrt of the system? I recently started up a hexcrawl with the classic griffin mountain module for runequest, sadly it is very lacking in actual rules for travel, camping and survival and i was looking for some rules to steal

Those are all taken directly from the Exploring the Wild chapter of the Dolmenwood Campaign Book. Most of those rules, in turn, are based on the Wilderness Exploration rules in the OSE rules and 1981 Expert rules. Camping rules were written for Dolmenwood specifically, and are optional. The PDFs of the pre-publication Campaign Book you can see me using are available to subscribers to Necrotic Gnome’s Patreon, which I can’t recommend highly enough. The link is on my channel banner.

Are you using the default "two-handed melee" are all slow? The sheet you gave only put "slow" on the crossbow.

No. I simply removed the reload trait from the crossbow, and made it slow, so it is the only weapon that attacks last in a round.

It would. I can’t remember what I said in the video. Everyone should have started with +0 BAB (THAC0 20). If I said otherwise, then I goofed.

@@neillennon5694 I don't have the rules with me but if I'm not mistaken THAC0 20 is -1. Descending AC 0 is Ascending AC 19. So if you need a 20 to hit that armor class, you have a -1 as your To-Hit modifier.
