Thanks Pim. Hope you and Jacqueline are well. Carmelita and I just finished skiing in Wyoming and Utah. Soon we head for Australia/New Zealand. Very much enjoyed meeting and visiting with you both! We will be posting Madonna Di Campiglio this week. Next the USA resorts we just finished, then Pinzolo and after that my “mini-Super 8” and the Al Forte Hotel. Take care and please stay in touch!

@@kowioutdoortv Thank you! I love skiing in beautiful places, and I’m trying hard to get better at the videoing and editing to accurately reflect just how amazing places like the Dolomites are. Still haven’t figured out how to capture the mountain scenery in the same way our eyes see it!

Hi James Thank you once again for beautiful videos, beautiful ski areas in Europe and America. These are two beautiful winter holidays that both you and we like. But the American areas are different, completely covered with snow up to 5-6 meters in Champagne. Probably difficult to carve? We wish you all the best on the routes, we wish you health!! And thank you again for letting us see the Ski world . George
@YouDecideIsItWorthIt7 ай бұрын
Thank you George. Many North American slopes do get deep powder, but there are also dry spells between storms - making carving from good on soft snow to needing race skis to carve into the ice. One year I chased nothing but powder in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Utah. I got 23 “powder days!” I was counting 12 inches (30 cm) as a powder day. Would be hard to repeat that in recent years even though I am retired from work. If you are ever interested in going to North America for carving, let me know and I will tell you of what I think are the best resorts in Western USA and Canada. Hope we stay in touch through the non-ski months as well. I always enjoy hearing from you - another passionate-carve skier!

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Good morning, James. It's great that you have such beautiful skiing plans for your further stay in Europe and then in the USA. I hope you will stay healthy and have beautiful weather. Thank you for the initial information about bezüglich Ski in USA (America). Unfortunately, this is impossible... for a simple reason: FINANCE, i.e. money. I am a pensioner and I cannot afford it with my pension (EUR 2,000)!!! It's too little to live on. I can still do a short ski holiday nearby... The Alps are almost unreasonable. So I will be looking forward to your new beautiful videos in the future and getting to know the world this way. Yes, It is Worth It !!!!!!!! Kind regards George

@@JerzySmigielski-m5e I understand about the $. I’m sure glad you enjoy joining me to see these different places! Next year we will again have IKON pass and Epic pass, so will be researching for which beautiful resorts we can ski in Europe next year with those passes. We also got Indy pass for use in North America - that pass includes resorts which have chosen to not participate in the conglomerate ski game. Hoping for good snow and cooler temperatures next year - climate is supposed to be switching from strong El Niño this year to Strong La Niña next season. Stay well!

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Hello James, where are you now? Still in Europe? I heard that a lot of snow fell in Switzerland, small ski areas are covered with 50 cm of snow. Can you still ride in such powder? Regards Have a good time!!!

@@JerzySmigielski-m5e Good morning! Yes, we are still in Europe. Today we will be finishing filming at Madonna Di Campiglio under mostly sunny skies. Yesterday we were able to film Pinzolo ski resort with partly sunny skies. 50 cm would be fun! Skiing powder is a different type of skiing - more like floating. Wider skis make it easier. A little speed to get them floating, then gentle carved turns is how I ski it! Good times in powder, especially untracked powder. Have a great day!

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt How is Madonna? We were in Alta Badia a month ago. Snow is so so but Food is excellent. I was told by one guy Alta Badia is the best ski area for food. He is right. Many say Zermatt has good food but it’s apparently not as consistently good as Alta Badia.

@@fitofito1001 We are having a good time in Madonna. It’s been snowing and low-viz every day since we’ve been here. Looks like it may clear enough mid next week to be able to see the place and video. I don’t remember the food too much in Zermatt, other than it was super expensive and twice we had excellent bratwurst and a beer outside a butcher shop at a food cart for $10.

@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Hello! Yes, this new snow is perfect. You were lucky with new snow in the Dolomites. Snow was still falling in Southern Austria to Innsbruck, Tyrol, Switzerland. There is no snow in southern Germany, and the ski lifts in Winterberg are also disabled. We have spring!!! Unfortunately !!!! Unfortunately !!!! How long will you be in the Alps? I hope that the weather will continue to be good, snow, sun and blue sky will accompany you!! We are waiting for more beautiful videos... I think about skiing on your slopes and I wonder if I could ski well with a camera in my hand??? Skiing is not a problem for me (even though I am 77) because I have 55 years of experience. But with a camera??? I wish you all the best... be healthy... we wish you happiness!!! George

@@JerzySmigielski-m5e Thanks George. We have five days left in the Alps, the we will ski a few more weeks in the USA (weather permitting). We have hopes to ski in Wyoming with views of the Tetons, and in Utah’s Wasatch mountains before beginning our Spring and Summer activities. Sorry to hear your local resort has disabled the lifts. It’s been a different year for winter… to warm and not a lot of consistent snow. I think you ski well with a camera. It’s mounted on an invisible stick and attached to the ski pole. I hold the invisible stick, and the ski pole serves as counter balance. Easy to film doing GS style turns - just have to focus on keeping the camera somewhat steady and always downhill. Harder in bumps and powder where I’m use to planting the poles! Three more nice videos scheduled to post: Lagazuoi (Hidden Valley) ski route with frozen waterfalls and Horse Ski Tow back to a resort; SellaRonda - which I think is the most scenic video this year, and then the Super 8 over near Cortina. I’m going to try and video this week in Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, and Folgaria ski resorts. It has become warm and often raining (not good for filming), but there are a few days forecast with some sun and no precipitation. Take care!
