I'll travel to Jamaica in a few days. Thinking about dolphin cove. Do the dolphins have the option to leave ( hence the lagoon close to the sea) or are they in complete captivity?

While I did enjoy the interaction with the Dolphins. It was a very rushed activity. We had to ride 60 minutes to the cove, spent 30 minutes with the Dolphins, then sent to photo shop and pressured to buy photos. We bought 140$ package, cannot take your own photos. Then told bus was leaving to go back to the cruise ship.

There is an underwater bridge for you to stand on. I would only worry about the depth of the water if you plan to swim with the dolphins or partake in the royal swim. I have been there and I can't swim so I stuck to meet and greet. When I'm able to swim I will be back. Ensure you go early so you can enjoy everything they offer. I went late and got through at around 2

The only thing I dont like about this advertisement is this corny folk music. Please please please guys This is Jamaica. Keep it authentic with music that reflects the island and the people. Not this folklore stuff which is dastardly out of place. What's wrong with accompanying the video with some nice vibe reggae tunes? Geez

90+ minute bus ride then an hour wait in line. I paid full price, over $600+ to swim with dolphins with my family of 5. They wouldn’t allow me within 200 yards to stand by and take pictures of my 6 year olds first time with dolphins because I didn’t want to get in the water. I do not recommend this place! This is my view.

actually when u go visit they switch between dophins and atleast they are in their natural habitat
