fresh version. great swing, perfect beat of the bass player on the 4/4 walking and the drummer...intelligent impro by piano player... This is the jazz i like...playing to create beauty, not to show off and not creating beauty

This pianist is incredible. I'm not sure if he studied much Fred Hersch, but it certainly sounds like there's some inspiration of him in his style. I love hearing inspiration from other greats in individuals playing. To this day, you still hear lines and styles reflecting some of the greats of our time. That is one of the things I love about Jazz. It allows the artist to draw from inspiration of others, while developing you whole own unique style. Great stuff!

thanks so much. I have two more albums recorded with this trio coming out 2018/19... at the mean time, check out my latest projects available, one of which features Miles Davis lyrical tenor saxophonist Rick Margitza here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1109233860/pavel-wlosoks-2018-cds-storyteller-and-respectfull?ref=creator_nav

John Riley is subtle. He doesn't bang things around like some drummers begging for attention. When Riley's sticks come into contact with something, it is with reasoning.

Great version of a challenging tune. Wonderful looseness from John Riley. Loved the piano and bass playing too. There are no passengers in this trio. Magnificent. The other video 'Happy' is sensational. Made my day.

Yes, the trio found a very nice beats-per-minute on this. This is just really nice, relaxed, yet driving. Handles like a sports car.

Your playing reminds me a bit of Christopher Boscole's. I saw and heard him live in a very unique venue in Corvallis, Oregon. His tune "Tone Poem" and others on his CD Natural Instincts, here on KZbin. Love Boscole's simple, relaxed, yet poignant use of subtle changes in jazz timing. You two share some fine qualities! Oh, found it! "A Time for Myself," my favorite Boscole. The evening with Boscole et al, a trio with a horn or two, in Corvallis, was so strange. No one knew about it coming, except a jazz pianist who played a coffee shop, who told me and one another or several people. There were maybe five of us in the audience all enjoying a show apparently made for us alone. Very unforgettable.
