I am from the USA. I visited Mtwapa April of last year. I stayed in an Airbnb a few blocks from where you stayed. Even though my Airbnb accommodations was not the best, I still enjoyed my visit. The Uber and Bolt drivers are a problem in that area. Now , many of them dont go by the fare shown on the app. They will contact you, and try to upcharge you, or they wont come. If you cancel that driver, the other drivers follow the same pattern. They have banded together to get more money out of customers.

Very sad about the Uber and bolt overcharge it's not the first time so I would advise that you can use an ordinary taxi or tuk tuk

Do a comparison of rates here in Kenya and abroad then look at the deductions Uber and Bolt makes on its riders. You will understand why

@@cr34tv3guru5 I'd rather do a comparison of rates of tuk tuk drivers , independent taxis, and boda bodas and look at the savings they offer when you negotiate an alternative price to Uber and Bolt drivers. Once enough Bolt or Uber drivers lose enough business maybe they will understand why their business practices towards potential customers are a turn off. Also, maybe they shouldnt be working for Bolt or Uber if they dont like the pay structure. Be an honest fair independent driver instead.
