The Wright film I saw that expressed me the most was a play where he picked up a blitzing LB and stoned him. We can always use an extra blocker. He showed that ability to me. Excited for his future in this offense. 😊

You got to be kidding me. Tua showed up and worked through a coach that didn’t want him while they were flirting with Watson. A rookie isn’t going to bother Tua.

Exactly! Has nothing to do with Tua’s confidence, the organization just believes they got their franchise qb in Tua.

Lol Barry saying he doesn't see the harm, and then begins to list off the harm. Tagging him would hurt the franchise more than signing him now. No matter what, your most likely not gonna be bad enough to pick a top qb next year. And if we dont sign cause he looks like the same exact player as last year, the price will go up and we wont have a qb for years if we let him walk. The team is too good to tank (even a year from now) so what is the point of waiting??

Do you really want to go down the “franchise tag” route with “who you say” is your franchise QB? Nothing the organization has done makes it seem like they are headed in that direction, they seem fully committed to Tua and building a team around him. That’s why you go ahead and lock him up now if you have faith in your scheme and being able to put Tua in a position to be successful.

This draft was about adding Armstead, Chubb, and Mostert’s replacements and we added some depth to the WR room. We’ll see if it works out. The Fins have entered a 3 yr transitional window where the front office will try to replace the leadership and the veteran talent on the roster while trying to stay competitive. Fingers crossed but I’m not holding my breathe either.

M.Wash will be the "regular" slot guy; T. Wash will be on the Dev squad unless his spec teams play stands out; and easy E will be a gadget/decoy sub for McD, if he can stay healthy...just my take.

@@lucascasey6867 I would argue that there is no way Tua has hit his ceiling. This guy is basically two years into his career and those two years have been really good. His first two years he had a coach actively sabotaging him and the offense was bush league at best. The cap is projected to go up 30 million each year for the next 3 years. These QB contracts are staring to become more manageable for the cap.
@geraldgilbert3982
@geraldgilbert3982 7 ай бұрын
Where did Allen’s dollar amount rank when he signed the deal? How much did the cap go up the 2 years following? It is reported that the cap is going to go up about $60M over the next 2 seasons. If you sign him now the $ amount is lower and percentage of cap is going to shrink drastically with that cap jump. You also lower his cap hit this year AND a franchise tag hit for a QB is huge AND non negotiable. It is a hard cap number. It also relieves Omar’s “capocalypse”.

Get Tua’s extension done soon. Delaying it will cost the team dearly. I sense Tua is a team guy who will work with the team and sign a cap friendly contract. I think he is getting better each season and I don’t think he will drop off. Our backup QB situation scares me. I have zero faith in White. I hope Skylar wins the backup job. I agree Tannehill is better than White but I don’t want to go there. Einstein said that doing the same thing again and expecting different results is insanity. Tannehill is not a McDaniel type of guy.
@coupleofem2752

Considering that it is year 3 of the offensive build and the fact that they added a bunch of talent to fortify it, it would be betting against yourself as a front office to let Tua play out the 5th yr. If things break right as im sure they expect it to do, that contract goes up to the 60 mil/yr range.

Yeah but think about it this way. If you wait and you have to pay him $60 million a year 2 years from now that means he's winning for us. The only thing that makes sense is to wait because if you pay him now and he craps out come November time again. You've dumped all this money multiple years and bad cap management. But if you can wait a year or two we would be golden what happened to
