Me and my hubsand enjoy your videos Chris. I grew up in the northern suburbs of Winnetka where the Home Alone house is located and my hubsand grew up on the Southside of Chicago in the Roseland neighborhood where that donut place is located at. I am learning some history from watching these videos.

That's my old neighborhood. You drove past Berger Vandenberg Elementary. I was in school there from 1984 to 1988!

Stayed at my Aunt & Uncle's house on Drexel Ave for the whole summer of 1977. I have such a deep love of Dolton back then.

OMG this reminds me of the Chicagoland suburbia I grew up in! Overall clean residential streets with sidewalks and for the most part neat as a pin homes. However, the video demonstrates worrisome areas that could become dominant. Governance is extremely important and I believe not taken seriously enough so a big shout out for the first must see Dalton video. I also recommend the video Chris did on the struggling city of Marion Indiana where the mayor there was discussed. This video along with any locale based video done by Chris shows excellently the how, what and why a given place is what it is.

There are some nice blue collar family homes in Dalton. It's such a shame their mayor is crappy. Hope they get rid of her and get someone productive in there with some ideas to turn the town around.

I'm not being negative in saying there little hope for any struggling community in Illinois. Unless there is a hidden gold mine in a community's district, it's only going to get worse.

I've driven through Dolton and I KNEW that the income was over, well over, $25,000.00 per year. I have not been on some of these streets, but the homes are extremely nice and the neighborhood is clean for the most part
@richardm3023Ай бұрын
You are partly correct. Keep in mind that over half the homes in Dolton are rental units. While there are nice houses and neighborhoods, Many of the residents that own the houses are senior citizens on pensions and Social Security. The younger people rent, the older ones own. Houses are not a clear indicator of income. Many of those homes were built and purchased when the area had much more employment opportunity.

Teflon Tiffany wants these homes so she can sell them for a $1 and make money off of them. She is in so much trouble and doesn't have a clue what she's done and is so so bad at it she can't even cover her tracks. I'm waiting for the video when they get all the cop cars repoed for missing payments.

It's played at a sped up speed, (you can select the playback speed in the settings) and how can music be "ignoring"?

Hasn’t changed much in the last 30 years. I can’t agree that it’s on the decline.
