CP3 never had a dominant 2nd man that could help him. People bring up Blake Griffin but a lot (upwards of 50%) of Griffin's production was via CP3.. that's ridiculous that his offense was that much reliant on another player. Now that he has a backcourt mate who can create his own offense in James Harden. And with the make-up of the NBA now (shooting & perimeter play) - that's a match made in heaven. Him & Harden will have a chance to give the Warriors a run for their money this postseason. But blaming Chris Paul for his teams failures is asinine as hell. A lot of this "choking" narratives on players like CP3 & LeBron come from the idiot, Nobody Touches Jordan - he's very influencing on the uneducated, casual basketball who never seen Jordan play. I know this is long af but I really do appreciate this video - I thought of something like this but you beat me to it. Plus I'm a biased CP3 fan so idk how it would turn out. Anyway, thanks Dom.

Skinny Hardaway no way they beat the warriors come playoffs without injuries
@fricktard123456 жыл бұрын
That was because CP3 ran the offense for the team. Don’t even bring up that argument without watching the clippers games earlier this year cause you clearly didn’t. The only reason most of Blake’s offense came from CP3 is because he was the focal point of the offense and how they ran it. Blake is completely capable of running the offense on his own. Don’t bring up records when the reason CP3 ran it is because he’s better at it than Blake.

I respect the hell out of you Dom but because you keep coming back to Lebron in this video and how "fairly" he is treated compared to CP3 in similar circumstances, I would like to say a few things. First of all, I don't understand for the life of me where you are getting the idea of people giving "passes" to Lebron for choking? People STILL on a nightly basis judge Lebron if he "choked" or not..after 15 YEARS IN THE LEAGUE. if anything CP3 choke label is nowhere near as bad as what people said about Lebron, so idk why you keep referring to that. You think what CP is going through is anywhere near as bad as what Lebron had to go through after that melt down in 2011? Secondly, you can say what you want to say about Lebron and his "super teams" and the "Leastern Conference" but Lebron did deliver 3 titles as a leader and the best player on his team. Oh and just in his 4th year took Boobie gibson, Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden to the NBA final. Did CP ever do anything close to what Lebron has accomplished? It is only after what Lebron has done upto now that people started giving him breaks. People NEVER EVER let this man off the hook before that. I agree with the big picture that CP's choke label isn't fair, and I know you were not necessarily comparing CP to Lebron, but if CP had delivered accomplishments anywhere close to what Lebron has done, CP would not have to go through all this.

Exactly what I was thinking! When has LBJ ever gotten a pass?
@mtnduwu6 жыл бұрын
He's gotten a lot of passes ever since he left Miami. The first year it was because of Blatt and injuries. When he was down 3-1 against the Warriors, it was his supporting cast (even tho he was on a big 3). Last year, he was "the only one who showed up" against a super team...even tho he was on a big three. Whenever his finals losses come up in discussion with anybody other than Skip, the narritive always is "what more could you expect Lebron to do." Even when the Heat lost to the Spurs, it was because the Heat got old, Lebron was never blamed. However, every time CP3 loses, he gets all the blame and all the memes, and no one wants to consider a reason for why it happened other than "CP3 choked again."

You hate on Lebron to much in this video, a lot of people dont give him a pass for loses to san antonio in 2014 or last year to Gsw or even three years ago also against Gsw. Lebron has had iconic moments in the finals and in the playoffs as a whole which made the series go his teams way, like the pull up three to put heat infront by 4 points again okc whith a cramp in his leg, making a championship clinching shot over the spurs in game 7,the block on Andre iguadaola, 45 17 reb 7 assists(when he smoked YOUR team ) against Boston in game 6 in TD garden,a game winning shot against the bulls in 2015 and a lot more. Chris Paul only has that one shot against the spurs and thats it, he could have stopped the bleeding against Houston but he disappeared in the 4th quarter. He is not a choker, but in no way is he a winner or a clutch player like you painted it to be with all those elimination game stats.

Chris Paul’s worst PPG / APG / FG% in single series have all come either against the only 60-win team he faced or one of the only 2 eventual NBA Finalists he faced. All of sudden LBJ went from "he pads his stats", "he chokes in the finals", "He averaged a 30 point triple double but he got locked up and his team lost"..... to "the only player to get credit when his team does bad is LBJ." 😂🤣😆 Which is it?? 🤔
@unspokenvoicesmedia5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, for your great comments. It's funny how Dom gives these excuses for LBJ/CP3 and pushes the Warrior's players as being problematic for having talented skilled players that work together as one unit which equals team. In my eyes that is basketball at it's greatness to watch. The object to the game is winning and enjoying the love of the game. Just watching players go into their toolboxes is art.

I agree with yo Dom. CP3 is one of the best players of this era and the best pure PG. We live in a age where people just repeat emptily what they heard to tear down players. Injuries and a few bad performonces prevented the clippers fro winning big. But i will say this, he indeed choked at the and of games in the series vs OKC and the team as a whole choked against the rockets. Still nowhere near being a choker ...people exagerate with the BS. Most fans on YT are young and have been watching for 4-5 years max.

While i agree CP3 isnt a choker you cant just say stats are everything without showing all of his game stats.... Some of his worst games is against teams that couldn't even get to the finals... 2012 VS Spurs (Spurs didnt make finals)CP3's 1st 3 games had 8.6TOV , -16EFF , and only 9 PPG....you cant say he did show up when its only the last game of the series where he does good. 2013 Vs Grizzlies (Grizzlies didnt make finals) He showed up with over 22.5 PPG but had major foul trouble 4FPG and even 1.5TOPG but was kindly given that by having 2 in last 3 games where game 5 he completely derailed with 5 TO. Now he didnt choke at all but wasnt playing to his full liking. 2015 Vs Rockets (Rockets didnt make finals) He had a good PPG but his EFF on the court wasnt too great. -7EFF over last 3 games with 2.5 TO last 3 games and game 7 vs rockets had 4 TO also had 3FPG as he couldnt stop fouling and giving points up. 2017 Vs Jazz (Jazz didnt make finals) He played terribly in game 7. He isnt a choker but isnt too much clutch either as he didnt produce in the game that counted most. 13 pts 3TO 2PF 10 AST 4REB -10EFF. Too conclude he isnt a choker career wise at all but you cant only put the good in without talking the bad. Lebron isnt perfect either he has alot of shitty games but hes faced teams who didnt make finals either and he never had a first round bye. Even with a shitty 2007 Cavs team he brought them to the finals. But no one is perfect but Paul is not a choker

So i guess Celtics are in the west....i guess the raptors who blew out Houston last year is in the west.....last year the top team celtics were 53-29 which put them 4th in west....its jot much competition in west just Warriors rockets and spurs he'll even okc when durant was there.....y'all act like its so easy in the east but if that's so then why didnt the celtics make the finals every year with thier super team? LeBron is just too unstoppable in playoffs...hes just that good....but when Jordan was in playoffs winning 6 titles it wasnt a smooth road for him😐😐😐😑......Plus this year celtics are top team in NBA...Cavs with record 23-9 2ould put then in west in 3rd place raptors at 20-8 would be 4th over spurs

I just don't agree with the LeBron criticism.. of course his supporters say he carries his teammates and give him a pass ... but from my personal perspective, even in his 15th year and with all his accomplishments, I have friends, family, colleagues etc. that still have the audacity to say LeBron is a choker...so don't make it seem like he's a saint all the time, cause he's easily (and unjustifiably) the most scrutinized player ever. There's something you need to consider when it comes to that, and it's that most people don't actually watch the games, and if they do it's their team. So when people hear that he's a choker, and many people agree, other people tend to follow the crowd. Also wanted to point out, yeah people definitely give LeBron a pass, but I still see a lot of people saying that 2007, 2015, and 2017 were his fault, which is completely ridiculous.

Chris Paul has choked plenty of times in the crucial moments of series and for overall series. Firstly let's debunk the myth that Chris Paul "doesn't have enough help" Chris Paul had - A 20+ ppg teammate in all four of his 2nd-round series exits (2008, 2012, 2014, 2015) - A 22-29 ppg and 10-15 rpg teammate in 5 of his 6 series wins (2012 1st Rd is the exception) - Had Blake/Deandre or Harden/Capela lead all players or tie all leading player on both teams in PPG, RPG, BPG in 4 of his 6 series wins (2014, 2015, 2018 1st Round and 2018 WCSF) The Clippers are - 1-3 in the playoffs when CP3 plays but Griffin does not, against the Jazz - 1-1 in the playoffs when Griffin plays and CP3 does not, while playing against a better team in the Rockets. Some will point to the 2018 Clippers missing the playoffs after Paul left, however every starter other than Deandre Jordan left the team by the end of the season, and even with countless injuries they maintained a winning 42-40 record with a severely injury-depleted team. The 2014 Clippers were 13-7 (0.650 win%) without Chris Paul when Blake and Deandre were healthy. *2008 WCSF* Tyson Chandler was mainly responsible for Duncan shooting 42.1% FG in the 2008 WCSF Tim Duncan 2008 Playoffs, 10 games vs PHX/LAL 23.6 ppg 15.6 rpg 46.1% FG (95/206) Tim Duncan 2008 Playoffs, 7 games vs NOH 15.3 ppg 13.0 rpg 42.1% FG (40/95) This is the 3rd-worst shooting series of Duncan's career after the 2016 WCSF (Age 40 and last series of his career) and 2005 Finals. Stacked defensive help by Chandler. Paul had a huge statistical series, but choked in the most critical stretch of Game 7 with the season on the line. - In the last 6:50 of Game 7, CP3 had 0 points on 0/2 FG with 1 assist to 1 turnover - He allowed Tony Parker to have 8 points in the 4th quarter including the sealing shot in CP3's face to go up 5 with 50 seconds left - Jannero Pargo had 16 pts in 4th quarter of Game 7 (only 5 assisted by Paul) - Chandler held Duncan to 2 pts in 4th quarter of Game 7 - both points came on a foul by David West David West had 20 ppg 9 rpg on 45% in the series. Some of this was due to Paul's passing, but West also had 15-16 ppg during the Pacers 2012 ECSF, 2013 ECF, and 2014 ECF playoff runs. West was playing less minutes than in New Orleans, in longer playoff runs, and without any good playmakers to set him up. No excuses about not enough help. CP3 individually failed his team in the season-deciding stretch of Game 7, not the other way around. If any true all-time great had 0 points in the last near-7 minutes of a Game 7, and got the dagger nailed in their face, everybody would be all over them regardless of their statistical performance. *2009 1st Round* Paul was dominated, exposed, outplayed, and destroyed individually by Chauncey Billups, after Paul had his best statistical year. Paul individually failed his team, not the other way around, by getting destroyed by Billups. Chauncey Billups 23-4-7 on 48%, 1.2 TOpg and 66% 3PT Chris Paul 17-4-10 on 41%, 4.8 TOpg Billups badly exposed Chris Paul's defense. He scored way more efficiently and was the way better playmaker, Paul had quadruple the turnovers as Billups. Billups had a 6:1 AST:TO ratio to Paul's 2:1. Billups' 66% 3PT against Paul's overrated defense is the highest he had in any playoff series of his career by far. This was after CP3 had his best statistical year, joining Magic and KJ as the only players to average 20-10 on 50% in a season (Magic and KJ did it twice each). *2010 and 2016* Injured *2011 and 2013* Good statistics in 1st Round exits against non-NBA Finalists, but not anything that we haven't seen before. Rod Strickland averaged 21.7 ppg - 5.1 rpg - 9.5 apg with 2.9 TOpg in 4 consecutive first round exits from 1994 to 1997 while losing to 2 eventual champions (1994 Rockets, 1997 Bulls). Not much to criticize, but not much to praise, either. *2012 WCSF* Against the only 60-win team (adjusted for 82 games) he faced in a playoff series, Paul played absolutely horribly. Chris Paul - 13-4-9-3 on 37% in 38 mpg and 4.5 TOpg Eric Bledsoe - 12-3-2-2-1 on 70% in 22 mpg (16 less mpg) Blake Griffin - 21-8-2-1-2 on 47% So much for Paul not having help. He wasn't even the 2nd best player on his team or the 2nd best PG in the series. After both Parker (7-11 on 11%) and Paul (6-10 on 23%) played terrible in Game 1 Parker averaged 21-4-7 on 40% and 19/24 FTs for the last 3 games C. Paul averaged 15-4-9 on 41% and 5/5 FTs the last 3 games. Parker clearly outplayed Chris Paul for the series after accounting for the Game 1 anomaly in which both played poorly. CP3 individually failed his team, not the other way around.
@NobodyTouchesJordan6 жыл бұрын
*2014 1st Round* Steph Curry - 23-4-8 on 44% Chris Paul - 17-5-9 on 42% Blake Griffin - 23-6-4 on 53% Paul played lesser minutes due to constant foul trouble, having 5 fouls in 3 of 7 games and 4+ fouls in 4 of 7 games. Paul was individually outplayed by Curry, but thanks to Blake and Deandre leading all players on both teams in PPG RPG BPG and Curry's 2nd-leading scorer Klay Thompson being outscored by Jamal Crawford off the bench in 12 less MPG, he got bailed out by his great supporting cast. That is the only reason the Clippers were even in position to face OKC in the first place. *2014 WCSF* Russell Westbrook 28-6-9 on 49% and 50/57 FTs (89%) Chris Paul 23-4-12 on 51% and 18/24 FTs (75%) Westbrook scored way more and way more efficiently as he went to the line more than twice as much, shooting almost 90%. Paul also choked away the eventually deciding Game 5 with his 2 turnovers in the clutch, including on the game winning attempt. He fouled Westbrook on his 3pter, so Russell made 3 FTs to take the lead in the game and the series. Westbrook outplayed him in the clutch of the crucial swing Game 5, further cementing that Westbrook outplayed him for the series. Had Paul not done that epic choke job, the Clippers would have been up 3-2 with Game 6 in LA. Chris Paul's overrated defense allowed Westbrook to shoot the highest FG% of any series in his career at 49% compared to 39% in Rounds 1 and 3 combined. For someone (undeservedly) praised so highly for his defense, that's inexcusable for Chris Paul. *2015 1st Round* Just like the 2014 1st Round, Blake and Deandre led all player on both teams in PPG RPG BPG and Blake Griffin was the best Clipper in the series. Griffin had +1.4 PPG, +8.5 RPG, and only -0.5 APG in the series compared to Paul. *2015 WCSF* Griffin led the Clippers to a 1-1 split to steal homecourt without Chris Paul, putting up 30-15-9 on 52% without him in the first 2 games (showing that Paul's passing is not mainly responsible for Griffin's good playoff performances). Deandre had 13-13-3-2-3 on 80% FG without Chris Paul in the first 2 games. They did exactly what they were supposed to without Paul. Blake had 27-12-5 on 56% and Deandre had 14-13 with 2 spg 2 bpg in the series. No excuses about help Then Chris Paul infamously allowed the Clippers to blow a 3-1 lead Game 5 - CP3 had 12 points and 4 assists after losing by 15+ - roughly half of his 22-10 stat line were in blowout situations Game 6 - CP3 had 1-6 FG in the 4th quarter before a garbage time 3 at the buzzer to make it 2-7 FG - His choking in the 4th quarter led to the Clippers blowing a 13-point 4th quarter lead Game 7 - CP3 had 17 points 3 assists for 3 quarters, losing by 17 at the end of 3 had 9 points and 7 assists in the 4th when it was already too late, losing by 13 - finished with a deceptive 26-10 stat line when a large chunk of his numbers came when it was too little, too late Games 5-6-7 - Blake 28-12-3 on 55% - Deandre 12-12 wth 2.3 spg 2.7 bpg Clippers were 1-1 (0.500) without Paul on the road and 2-3 (0.400) with Paul Keep in mind the Rockets best perimeter defender Patrick Beverly did not play in this series, but Paul still couldn't beat an undermanned team. No excuse about losing with that stacked help against an injured non-Finalist team. *2017 1st Round* Paul should have had a big statistical series at the bare minimum considering one of the best defensive players in the league in Rudy Gobert missed 3 of 7 games due to injury, on top of the Jazz's best player Gordon Hayward missing the last 3 quarters of Game 4 due to illness. Paul had one of the worst Game 7 performances of any star player in history. Chris Paul, Game 7 vs Jazz - 2 points on 1/9 FG, 4 ast to 2 TOs in the 2nd half of Game 7 - 0 points on 0/8 FG, 4 ast to 2 TOs after 11:00 mark of 3rd quarter Chris Paul rarely gets criticism for this, proving that he isn't held to high standards compared to true all-time greats.
@nobodytouchesmj97806 жыл бұрын
*2018 1st Round and 2018 WCSF* Harden and Capela lead all players or tie all leading players on both teams in PPG RPG APG SPG BPG for both the 1st and 2nd Round to carry Chris Paul to the WCF for his first ever 2nd-round series win. *2018 WCF* Paul's only great performance in the 2018 WCF was Game 4 after Iguodala, the Warriors' best perimeter defender was injured and his next-best 4th quarter was in Game 5. Prior to Iguodala's injury he had 17.3 - 8.3 - 4.3 on 40/25/75 with 2.0 TOpg and 4.3 fouls per game for Games 1-3, and that is even with him stat-padding in Game 1 and Game 3 Game 1 - 6 points on 3/3 FG in the last 80 seconds down 12+ Game 3 - 8 of 13 points, 1 of 4 assists after being down 20+ late in the 3rd quarter The 2018 Warriors are the only team he faced that made the NBA Finals or won it all, and he averaged his least assists in any series (4.6) and 2nd-lowest FG% (40.7%) in any series against them. Showing that he only has such good career playoff stats because - 10 of his 16 series are in the 1st Round - and because he never played a Finals or Title caliber team prior to the 2018 Warriors. The only 60-win team he faced was the 2012 Spurs (adjusted for 82 games) and he shot 37% with 4.5 TOpg against them. When Chris Paul does face the highest level of competition, he has mediocre or poor performances. Chris Paul has lost under every circumstance - with homecourt advantage - without homecourt advantage - with stacked help - without stacked help - with a 2-0 lead - with a 3-1 lead - with a Game 7 at home - with a Game 7 on the road - with healthy teams - with injured teams - against healthy opponents - against injured opponents Whatever the circumstance, Chris Paul proved time and time again that he cannot lead your team past the 2nd round as the number 1 option, even in his last 2 Clipper 1st Round series wins he needed Griffin to be the best player as he and Deandre led all players on both teams in PPG RPG BPG. *Other PGs have done much more with less* Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd, and Steve Nash all joined teams that had under 30 wins (1988 Suns, 2001 Nets, 2004 Suns) prior to their first year starting with their new teams. All of them immediately took sub-30 win teams to consecutive Conference Finals, or NBA Finals in Kidd's case. KJ did it despite the 1990 Suns being 0-2 in playoff games in which KJ was injured (Game 1 vs Jazz, Game 6 vs Blazers). Unlike Blake and Deandre playing great without Chris Paul against the Rockets, KJ's best teammates in Eddie Johnson and Tom Chambers played horribly in KJ's absence without his playmaking to set them up. Game 1 vs 1990 Jazz, Game 6 vs 1990 Blazers with KJ injured Tom Chambers - 18 ppg on 10/32 FG (31%), 4.5 TOpg Eddie Johnson - 8 ppg on 4/15 FG (27%) Nash did it despite Joe Johnson missing 3 of 5 games in the the 2005 WCSF and 2 of 5 games in the 2005 WCF due to a broken orbital bone and his best teammate Amare Stoudemire missing the entire 2006 Playoffs, on top of Raja bell being suspended for an elimination game against LA and missing 2 of 6 games in the 2006 WCF. Nash and KJ both averaged 20-10 twice apiece in their 2 Conference Finals runs even with injury issues, joining Magic Johnson (x3) as the only players to average 20-10 for 3+ rounds 2 or more times. The only teams to immediately go from sub-30 wins to at least 2 consecutive Conference Finals are - Kareem's Bucks (1970, 1971, 1972) - Bird's Celtics (1980, 1981, 1982) - KJ's Suns (1989, 1990) - Kidd's Nets (2002, 2003) - Nash's Suns (2005, 2006) Kidd's Nets are the only team to immediately go from sub-30 wins to 2 consecutive NBA Finals. If those 3 PGs can do much more with less than Chris Paul, there's no excuse whatsoever for Paul failing to lead his own very good supporting casts past the 2nd round and needing his teammates to lead all players on both teams in PPG, RPG, BPG for 4 of his only 6 career playoff series wins. Paul gets the most praise while accomplishing the least moreso than any other player in NBA history.
