Off the top of my head I would set two initial character sets or keyframes of the rig. One in T-pose then keyframe a later frame to the A-pose. This way you can snap between the two. Maybe even make both a clip.

Why did you use the trax editor instead of time line editor?

The Time Editor is pretty much a replacement for the Trax editor that came with Maya 2017. I am old school. But either can work.
