how do you know when you need to switch?

when the switch become unlocked? I suppose it's happening automatically after tram has passed a switch and went for some further distance away from switch place? Am I right?

I haven't tried this myself but I guess that is how it works. As soon as the tram passed the switch it should unlock again for the next tram
