Off-balance sheet items are typically those not owned by or are a direct obligation of the company. For example, when loans are securitized and sold off as investments, the secured debt is often kept off the bank's books. Prior to a change in accounting rules that brought obligations relating to most significant operating leases onto the balance sheet, an operating lease was one of the most common off-balance items. Off-balance sheet items are not inherently intended to be deceptive or misleading, although they can be misused to be deceptive. Certain businesses routinely keep substantial off-balance sheet items. For example, investment management firms are required to keep clients' investments and assets off-balance sheet. For most companies, off-balance sheet items exist in relation to financing, enabling the company to maintain compliance with existing financial covenants. Off-balance sheet items are also used to share the risks and benefits of assets and liabilities with other companies, as in the case of joint venture (JV) projects.

Off-balance sheet (OBS) items are assets or liabilities that are not recorded on a company's balance sheet, but are still considered part of the company like SPE's etc

Please give more clarity on future of uiic, oriental insurance, nicl. I am 24 yrs old, due to clouds of privatization should i even target these exams, or focus on ssc, ppz tell sir, u hav made far too little videos on these exams as compared to others!!!
@Cac-d8cКүн бұрын
Focus on SSC if want a certain future. No one will give you surety about privatisation of these PGIC. If you talk union members and employees they will say merger happened. But if you see the last statement of Finance Minister she is never say anything about merger only focusing on privatisation right now. If merger of PGIC will happen then why not any news about in newspaper just like RRB. RRB merger news come in newspaper paper a month ago. Now it is happening officially. If you are selected in any PGICs other than NIACL join it but don't leave your preparation.

@@chimni9267 How I know the future of any government organisation, we should ask this question to our FM and PM. But government has already told that Business is not the business of the government, so sooner or later maximum organisations will become private! This is the stand of the government.
