Have had one of these for a couple of years, and yes they do work quite well.

Just come across your video today, I found it very informative as I want to remove our hatch and replace it the dometic unit.

Glad it was helpful! Making long videos kind of sux for the viewer but i felt the viewer needs to see the detail when deciding to install one of these. Good luck with the replacement id love to hear how it goes

Excellent video and just ordered DRS2 for my Jayco outback like yours👍 over the last year I’ve been keeping front hatch closed up to test if DRS2 will go in hatch spot and have decided to go ahead and do same as you. Thanks for posting up

no problems , thanks for watching :) we just came back from central OZ , into Finke, Mt dare and out via Oodnadatta the DRS did really well. The dust only seemed to defeat the curved bunk windows in the corner on both, but with a bit of vasaline on the seals of windows it was not a problem anymore. Where you headed ?

Great video! Did you have the measurements of the vent you removed.
@boxandtravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg , the vent I removed was fitted into a 400mmx400mm penetration

Great video....how does it go driving highway speeds and rain. Do you get any water ingress? Some reviews have stated it can leak so very interested in knowing your situation.
@boxandtravel2 ай бұрын
HI , i have never had water defeat it and come into van when stationary and its raining heavy for the day. Also i did 6 hours of highway driving from Melbourne to Remark in the rain and there was no water in the van through the filter. The only time i had dust defeat it or allow some to enter was on the drive into Mt dare then out onto the Oondatta track. But that was because the filter was full and needed a clean out (it was old and had done many trips) and the reduced air flow was not allowing the pressure to be high inside the van. gave it a clean and good to go again.

my pleasure , thanks for watching - are you looking to install one ? i found a bonus feature of having one of these is it helps air out the van when traveling. Nothing worse that the webber smell coming in from the boot hatch

@@boxandtravel I was looking... I am in the USA though and don't see that they sell it here. Are there other (better) choices in Australia? I assume Bruder's is proprietary?
@boxandtravel2 жыл бұрын
@@donkingdonkey4764 Hey mate , not many choices really just a powered version from carafan.com.au or go with a unit they use on mine sites to filter out the dust i guess... surely they can ship to the US..weird

@@boxandtravel I don’t really like that powered version… I have a maxxair fan that will go either direction and can just put a 14x14 filter on it and run it into the unit, but then need to watch the battery level. This dometic thing seems like a good idea only issue is I don’t like dometic too much.

Thanks for the video this has solved me a headache of cutting an unwanted hole in my van I’m going to use the clear hatch vent also 🙏🏼 one question though, did you screw the top main compartment down into the roof? Or is it just siliconed ? Thanks
@boxandtravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate , thanks for watching. No screws are needed on the top section as the inside section screws into the top to pull the 2 together. All that is on the roof is sealent and a gasket that is supplied. Have had no leaks yet

Great video have you used it yet and did it work ? Also did it fit in to the original hole or did you need to brace it
@boxandtravel2 жыл бұрын
HI Brad, so yes it fitted into the original hole which was actually bigger than what was required. The Jayco comes pre braced you can pull your hatch down internally as shown in the video, check for bracing and do a measurement before buying and check dimensions online. We have traveled in some crazy rain on highway and even had a lot on the roof parked and had no leaks and yes it preforms very well with the dust but unfortunately it requires movement of vehicle to work. An added bonus we found is the van gets a bit of an air out while traveling and smells that can come from the BBQ being in the front boot don't hang around. Glad you enjoyed the video
