It's average. While comparing with the RE Himalayan dominar 400 has better brakes. Front brakes of D400 is awesome and that makes us feel that the rear brake is bad because it doesn't give the feedback of front brakes

If your daily commute is above 30km it's ok. It's hard to use this bike for very short commutes(below 10km) because of its weight and power. And it's an awesome bike for weekend getaways. The only thing show should follow during the break in time is the rpm limit.(first 1000km - 4k rpm, upto 3000km - 6k rpm)
