This strategy does also work with Temenos, albeit being very inefficient. Give him the Apothecary subclass and learn the skill Weak to Poison. Just use that skill on a free turn, so poison ticks also poke the enemy shield.

That, or just use the bottled nightmares to put them to sleep, then when you have two turns in a row spam elemental barrage and latent power to break shields, then reapply bottled nightmares and refuel on latent power with a Lichee item. There are few NPCs with 8+ shields so you're likely not even going to need to refuel the latent power anyway.

he says early on but you need 30-60k worth of bottle nightmare to kill 1 of those high level npcs. not worth it early game since you can make use of the gold for something else like killing the dragon at the graveyard with hired help for the forbidden blade which has 320+ atk. unless you like wasting time farming gold low level then go for it.

You are correct, it can require a lot of gold, which i definitely forgot to mention in the video it can also be used early in the game. It's a strategy that is nice to know as can be used to get items early, particularly items for quest or inventor skills.

a cheaper way to do this is use bottled nightmares turn onw then swtich between posion and sleep bought from the same merchent its cheaper and works well if u pay attention spam the sleep potion when there are 3 stacks left same witht he posion that way if u miss u will likely still keep them asleep

@@Vayank123 I haven't tried that skill but base it con's it doesn't seem worth it. To loose all your so for 1 move that hits once. I like skills that hit multiple times for Hikari.

For difficult mugs i put on osvald all dodge equipment, and the dodge+ dancer's skill. It's very effective.

Poison and Sleep bottles are way better cost-wise. Sure they are slower. But bottled nightmare spam is a huge waste of gold early game.

It's less consistent as well, but yes, you are right, while it may not be best for the early game depending on what your trying to get. it can be done and works great mid game to get certain items.

I think temenos latent power with a step ahead, full power and boost start is a sure fire way to win every time.

For some reason i dont have the merchant that sells poison,etc. I have one which sells amulets and one who sells armor and weapons

You have to keep changing day and night cycle, and eventually, they will show up

Haven't had Miss yet on any of the duel targets. But if you're using it in battles, then the probability can be low depending on the enemy.

@@CoatTee I've been using it in Duels with Hikari, trying to get Last Gasp, and most of the time at least one of the stats - usually Sleep - completely misses.

@dawnaeaclaudiuscaesaraugus714 Some characters are immune to certain effects and / or have lower probability rates for specific effects. You can use sleep bottles, which are cheaper to try to get that effect first, then use bottled nightmares.

I tried to mug the Gladiator who has the "Evil Eye" sword but didn't work. I had 6 of these bottles and a bunch of poison bottles (that cost 600, for when the poison missed). Any suggestions? Not sure how much HP that guy has.

If it's the poison is missing most of the time, try it with the apothecary sub once you get him to sleep. Use week to poison skill, and that should allow the poison to hit. I like to start with nightmare bottles.

Yes, you could alternate bottles that way as well. I would still use bottle nightmares as well, at least on first turn. Depending on the NPC, certain effects have a lower chance, so at with nightmares your getting some effects.

Some duel enemies are immune to poison, so this won't work on everyone.

Except theirs a skill that makes enemies weak to poison though its like only in the Apocathary/Chemist job so for party members that are NOT in that job they would need it as their sub job that skill SHOULD make the poison immune duel enemies still be able to be poisoned.

But you still need LOADS of Gold FIRST and access to the Black Market you also NEED to go first because if you don't you'll likely DIE in 1 hit BEFORE you can cause Sleep and Poison IN that order. While this trick is good and all it won't actually WORK for bosses those kind of tend to be immune.

Well yeah, bosses aren‘t duels. You can also use poison bottles and sleep bottles which are wayyy cheaper but more unreliable and time consuming. Its a nice strat to have if you want some really strong weapons as soon as possible.

Sure bosses aren't duels but it would still be a cheap way TO kill bosses if it WERE possible to easily poison them to death since 1 job class has a skill that makes enemies weak to POISON damage and that skill MAY work on bosses.
