Octopath Traveler 2 - How to Beat the Forsaken Devourer of Dreams in the Forsaken Graveyard!
In your travels, you will discover plenty of equipment, and among the most powerful of these is the Forbidden Sword, a weapon with massive stat benefits with the sole trade-off of giving a slim chance of buffing the enemy target's physical attack. The weapon itself is too useful to pass up, and its stat benefits work spectacularly when paired with Throné's "Surprise Attack" thief skill since it does extra damage when done earlier on in a turn.
The weapon is tucked away in a treasure chest guarded by the fearsome Devourer of Dreams, which is intimidating at first, but with the proper strategy and party setup you can kill him in less than three turns! Sound too good to be true? Let me show you!

I'm 1/2 through my 1st playthrough. Never ONCE have I paid attention to the turn order. I grew up in the 80s, so I just go off of speed stats. Seems like cheating to be able to plan that far ahead. That being said....I will now do so.

Excellent work. I did this boss with Castti at lv 52 and my party at 38-39. All it took was a couple of debuffs from Throne, auber's blessing, and drastic measures with extra damage. I laughed when that happened. I'm curious about what else this boss does.

If you're just going to flee from every battle, you might as well do it during the day. You'll face less encounters.

if anyone cares, wants to try it, this guy is capturable with a Hunter, on red health with max capture my chances where around 5%, lmao so good luck. Honestly the strat would be the same: 1. Corrosive armor. 2. Break 3. Max Hired Help into Warriors (that will inmediately bring him into red health). 4. Max capture into spin the wheel, good luck. If you don't capture it chances are you'll probably die since on red health it will spam his "ultimate attack" (800 damage + nasty status aliments)

I’d have to check it out! That sounds like it’d pair well with the Blessing in Disguise from the Water Spirit dungeon. I really wish there was a feature that showed where you found items ingame.

Where do you get the beastlings summon at? How do you get the buffs at the start of the battle?

Beastlings is hired help merchant skill, the buffs are from throne at night.

I ve been enjoying octopath traveler so much. I love the merchant. Got my arm master all arms and skills because of him. I was able to defeat the bosses at level 20s lol. And because of money. And running enemies.

I swear blessing on disguise was made just for throne, all the good weapons that are edgy that fit her have negative stats meant to be reversed and turned into speed and dodge buffs haha.

I always use Hired Beastlings whenever a Octopuff or Cait Sith appears. They’re not terribly frequent, but it’s a nice boost. Otherwise I just focus on taking down the stories whenever I can. May make a farming video later this week!

Not sure how far you're in the game so be warned of Spoilers! The strongest Sword in Octopath Traveler 2 in terms of raw Physical Attack is the Blade of the Conqueror which has +200 Phys Atk and another +250 Phys Atk against a Broken target for a total of +450. The way you get the Blade of the Conqueror is somewhat obtuse: First you have to go to the Blacksmith in Orerush and Buy/Steal/Allure the Pickaxe from the NPC there, then you have to go to Winterbloom and give the Pickaxe to the woman next to the Sword in the Stone, she'll break it and then give you the Rusted Sword in exchange, then you have to bring the Rusted Sword to an NPC in Gravel who will repair it into the Sword of the Conqueror (And will also give you the Armsmaster Job if that was the first Rusted Weapon you brought them)

You can also simply pull the sword out your self and get the trophy for Octopath Traveler by having a party of 4 and 4 companions / summons. So Ochette, Agnea, Temenos, and Partitio. This also gives you a separate scene and what I honestly did intuitively. The lady literally talks about not enough hands and all I see is this approach you suggested copy pasted everywhere. Guess it's a back up solution :p
