I like the idea of making more cards that counter meta decks. Like making a card that when you discard it you get an ability. It can be built around and keep bucky in check! I would rather this style of stabilization than power creep or ban lists. I can see eventually making a restricted list!

Wish me luck for my set championships! Terrified, not helped by autism, I tend to overthink, so I moved from sapphire/steel to amber/ruby. I feel I play better and someone at my locals even said I did, but I feel it is a mistake, looking at the meta. This Saturday at 10am 😅 Also us in the UK of course start before the US, funnily enough we could tell when all the US stores came online last time (I only went to one), as Melee instantly started slowing down and crashing around 4pm our time 😂 it took ages for top cut to start! Not to write too long of a comment - do you have/could you do a video on what to take to tournaments? As someone with a lot of medical issues (I have 14 medicines to take, no exaggeration), packing for the last Set Championships, making sure I'm hydrated, have snacks etc. was something that worried me. I know it isn't a big deal for some people, as they can push through, but migraines and dehydration hit hard, especially in a room full of people! It is also warm here - we have no air-con! It is also useful for Challenge events, more than this tbh.

So obviously this list will change with medical needs but here is what I bring. 1. Water bottle 2. Some kind of quick snack. I do peanut butter crackers. 3. Headache medicine 4. Deck and play materials 5. Hand sanitizer Make sure to eat before the tournament. Hunger can cause focus to stray. I try to meet up with some friends for breakfast before big events to get my brain flowing. Show up early so you aren't rushing during registration and have time to look over your deck. I think the funny thing with Diablo vs Bucky is I expected Diablo to be more of a problem than he is. Diablo has loads of outs in every pretty much every deck, Bucky has very few (most in Steel). When I hear of the Hiram debate, I also think of the same thing - Hiram has outs to him, plus he exerts so often you're going to be able to get him. But Diablo doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as Bucky does. Diablo is a nuisance, you add Bucky to the mix and it is gamebreaking.

Yes! I sold my Diablo’s because I think it’s overrated. It’s easy for me to deal with. Unless I’m playing steel, Bucky is on the board for a while. And AWNW isn’t the same as Bucky, since I’m at least getting 7 new cards in my hand. Great interview!
