Fished a club tournament on Tuesday and came in 2nd with not quite 18lbs. Most of my area was a silted in bottom. I used a Carolina rig with a 3 foot leader using a ZMan lizard just because it floats so well. I can’t ever think of a time where I caught a fish hitting a lure in the muck.

Drop shot a wacky rig senko with a long leader. You can pick it up and let it fall back down, while maintaining bottom contact with your sinker.

Bank fishing a mucky or snaggy bottom I like a slip bobber to suspend baits, great for casting too.

That would be all the lakes in my area as they're all 3700 Acres or less so there is no current or power generation. You had some very great tips and I like a free rig within a last text style bait as well

Tokyo rigs with light weights can accomplish the task of staying above silt if it’s not too deep plus it makes noise attracting fish.

in shallow water with muck bottom I'll throw a weightless Texas rig with a soft jerkbait of some type. is there a name for this?

I’m still trying to figure out how to fish a lake that has silt and that green snot crap completely covering the bottom during the winter months, I primarily want to use an 8 inch hudd during this time but if I can have a way to do it I’ll use a jig or anything else if I will be able to slow fish there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

@@ATFISHING I have drug around a C-rig with a zman slim swim and that did kinda sorta work, probably worth another try because I was using entirely to heavy of a weight due to it was already set up lol
