Yeah! Congrats! Best advice I can give you: choose your job before signing up. If you are expecting to work “normal hours,” make sure you choose your work well. If you come in open general you might end up with a job you don’t care about and working shift work or night shift. Check out the Air Force subReddit.

So happy for you. I made a similar video showing how I went from a PDQ to being accepted into the Marine Corps. Congrats! I also got p’dqed for the Air Force and misdiagnosed. I was literally showed the medical dictionary and told they never heard of it but I have it. Totally crushed my dream. I ended up join the Navy. Grandfather was Coast Guard, father was Air Force, & I will be Navy. I’m super excited! Never stop fighting!

Dominga Shataun I just got lucky with getting this base as my first one. This job don’t travel much and we’ve lost some places we’re able to go to. But overseas we can go to here in Italy, Germany, or Japan. Stateside it’s just AZ, South Carolina, FL, extremely rare because it’s one slot but possible Lackland and that’s it. Travel cost in Europe is extremely cheap so I take advantage of it while I still can, the plan is to go to as many countries as possible. Hmm, as far as maintenance goes this is hands down the best maintenance job you can get. I can give you more details about the job in a email.

I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Honestly you deserve this, your perseverance motivates me. 😭❤️ Just got DQ’d for eczema (THAT I NEVER HADD) was also misdiagnosed.. I moved from Texas to Alaska.. so of course that dry ass weather is going to make my knuckles dry.. the doctor at JBER diagnosed me with eczema. I only had the rash for 2-3 weeks back in 2012.. never had another rash again. 😑 Also got DQ’d for asthma, I had as a child.. in 2012 as well. I was 15 years old. Don’t have asthma now so waiting to get the methocholine test to prove I don’t have it. 😑 How did you prove you didn’t have eczema? Just had a dermatologist write a note for you? My PCP did but I guess that wasn’t enough.. Thanks for your advice! 💛

My mom told me once "Face it, Brittany. You have an eye disease. They will keep saying no. Your sister Angel was disqualified for the same thing when she tried to join." This conversation was had in the Fall of 2013. I was determined to prove her wrong. So I kept trying and fought for my dreams of getting in the military. For 6 years. Many people even said maybe it wasn't meant to be and that God has other plans for me. Then in the summer of 2019, the vision waiver finally gets approved, yet I maintain a level of maturity and respect to my mother and not rub it in. Instead I share the good news with her happily.

Dominga Shataun I Can re-enlist in a year but in the mean time I’m going to school and doing marketing. So I’m keeping busy in the mean time and slowly working out as well. Try intervals for those pounds and saunas! Trust me when I say you’ll lose wait in BMT. I left 4-5 pounds under my max.

I tried to go into the airforce about a year and a half ago and I lost around 30lbs and the recruiter was really the issue with me. I finally got in but with a different branch. The Navy will be great for me but IM VERY PROUD OF YOU FOR NOT GIVING UP! I leave July 8th! GOOD LUCK WITH MEPS❤️❤️

Hey girl I ship out MARCH 25th and let me tell you! I had been waiting a year just because I have a green card. My crazy mom never got me a citizenship even though I’ve been here since I was 5! They made my background check drown out for a WHOLE YEAR! Finally my stuff got approved about one month ago so thank heavens cause I was ready to just choose a whole other profession. I also got a medical job, which I hear is super hard to get(?). It’s health services admin. I’m excited af to go into MEPS one last time and come out an airman at BMT! GOOOD LUCK GIRL! I appreciate this because I was recently told I have to lose between 20-30 lbs. I'm like bruv I row, run half-marathons, workout, etc. and wear my weight well. They were like NOPE ! Drop some weight then talk to a recruiter. I'm working on my Masters degree now and was gonna just say eff it, but your video inspired me to persevere. May 3rd is the deadline I'm giving myself. SO now when income tax comes in I am going to pay down so my debt to income ration falls below the 40% (I heard the FED waiver can mess up TS clearance) since all the jobs I am interested in require TS. You’re definitely an inspiration and good thing you didn’t listen to all the haters look where you’re going now! 🇺🇸 and I kind of have a similar story took the Asvab 3 times first time got a 25 didn’t study because I was told it was easy, took it again got a 38 I needed a 50, every recruiter told me”back in my day that would’ve been a passing score.” Took it again a year or two again(been trying since 2015) got a 36 nowadays just needed a 31 or higher but I back down for stupid reasons people’s opinions 🙄 and now I’m sitting here still thinking about it praying to God about it!!! Mine score expires this April! If it’s meant to be it will be! Congratulations also to you!!! Can’t wait to see more update videos!!! 🙏🙌🎉

I’ve lost 105lbs to enlist in the Navy and I’m still technically 40lbs over my weight requirement BUT with the Navy you can pass tape and enlist. I make tape and Ive finally got approved for MEPS which I’m going to tomorrow (after getting 15 doctors notes due to a gallbladder surgery back in 2015) I wish you all the luck in the world my girl! It's basically a prep course once a month to prepare you for basic training. I have one more UTA this weekend. So yeah the anticipation killing me LOL

@@DomingaShataun no, my UTAs are at my home base which is at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It's an active duty base and I've been doing you UTA since September. I think it's only for reservists because when I got back from MEPS back in July I didn't swear in until August everyone else who was active duty got sworn in at the MEPS station but when I got back from MEPS a week later I got with my recruiter and we went over the jobs that I was qualified for. After I picked my job she gave me information about going to my base and participating in these development groups I got my military ID and everything back in September and you get paid for it too. UTA is supposed to be a program that prepares you for basic training. Where as active duty once they swear in at MEPS they head straight to basic.
