Ms Stratas seems to channel Blanche in A Streetcar named Desire. Quite intense and interesting performance by both singers.

Esta escena de Il Tabarro es preciosa...llena de tensión...intensa...enorme Puccini...Domingo tiene una grabacion de poca calidad de imagen de finales de los 70 en la Zarzuela con Angeles Gulin...donde esta enorme de facultades.

I have this on DVD and must say, as a life long fan of both, I am, well, baffled by Teresa's appearance. It's as if she was called at the last minute to fill in and she ran from the street to the stage, refusing to let someone put a wig on her, at least. And, darn it, her voice is by turns patchy, thin and weak. Placido looks like a stevedore, tall, hard work strong and he sounds just as powerful, his miraculous platinum vocal chords coated in chocolate leather. Juan Pons as Michele is my favorite, such a voluptuous and commanding baritone voice. I will probably one day watch it again but Teresa is making me sad. I'm going to watch La Traviata as an antidote.
