@@Petzchner I don't think tennis IQ and game IQ relate. Just my opinion... One could be a genius and yet lack that spark of quick creativity. I'm quite sure if you give a recorded match (slow motion) to any top 100 player, they could be quite creative in telling you what they'd do next. And I mean.. if you think about it, it's not lije tennis IQ requires a lot of thinking. Quite simple.. if you follow the same pattern, then the opponent can guess a bit better. If you try different things, then you confuse them or keep them put of rythim. The thing that ppl fail to notice is that he CAN pick a variety of strokes without missing the court. Other players like Zverev for example only do what they are comfortable with, which is hitting back to open spots with one pace.

Abp 7 well... I’m not quite sure how to explain this cos I think it depends on individuals on how they react to such situations. Zverev has the knack of staring down his opponents from the corner of his eyes with his fist in the air. I believe that’s an action of trying to goad his opponent. In contrary, Nadal punches the air but looks away from his opponents when he does it, presumably out of respect. So you’re right to say no offense taken, and I think some would be right to say they’re offended.

Meddy has the most unconventional style of tennis since Nadal ... more so than Nadal I think. Its very weird the way he wields the racket, its almost like seeing a toddler hold a racket where he's mostly just swinging without obvious signs of control .. he does not produce penetrative shots like Novak but his shots always lands in and away from the opponent ... he does not look athletic or speedy at all but wow, he can run all day and get to the ball when you expect him to tire ... it is all very strange ...

I find it worrying that Thiem seems to show a pattern of having very front-loaded performance where his level dips after 1.5 sets ... He needs to learn the ability to maintain his level for longer periods if he's going to win big matches more often ... Medvedev on the other hand has good kick in the later part of the matches ... I like both their personalities though, they do not carry with them a vibe or swagger that makes some other players feel obnoxious in a way ... They belong to the Nadal type of personality which I will always support ...

@@88feji Not at all honestly. Against Tsitsipas he played his best in the 3rd set. Against Djokovic the 3rd set was his best tennis. Thiem can sustain a level pretty well. And one thing hes improved this year is his ability to keep holding serve and staying in matches when he’s not playing well. He has won sets while playing safe tennis that’s clearly not his best, against top 8 players. That’s impressive to me. I think in this match and in the match against Djokovic, nerves got to him in some moments. He could’ve closed this match in two. But Rafa did the same thing and he’s a 20 time GS champion. Medvedev is just an exhausting player, especially on this surface. I really wish Thiem won this match, but he’ll be back. I really like his chances at the Aussie; he might be my pick unless something changes between now and January.

As a tennis fan since back to -Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl as well as Rod Laver--- the professional players and their fans then were very much more like the polite "Oh, good get" school of amateur tennis. John MacEnroe's tantrums and racquet smashes were tolerated because he brought in the crowds. Serena Williams' behaviour at the Open when she lost to Naomi Osaka is also an example of poor sportsmanship. The Russians may be trying to adapt to the contradictory world their wins have placed them. They are representing their country, just as does an Olympic athlete. Medvedev has probably been told not to gloat.

Med biggest talent BY FAR (and one that most people that do not play tennis cant really see if no one tells them) is that he HIDE EVERY SINGLE SHOT untill the last second. That is how no one can anticipate what he does and he create so much danger in every single ball he touches. Impressive stuff, like ljubicic serve but in all the game lol. Increible russian tennis. Allways hidding, even hiding when he won the tournament lol. So russian and so beautifull!.

@@rishbahpandey8697 well you need to read me better haha. I said Med biggest talent by far. Maybe I needed to put Med´s biggest. I am talking about Med´s biggest talent. Wich, in fact, I belive no other top 10 had that in the past 20 years or so maybe. But ofc, roger is more talented, and perhaps novak and nadal are. I dont see novak and nadal like pure talented players. But again, we need to determinate what is a talent. Novak biggest talent is his ability to LEARN and improve over the years. Nadal biggest talent? maybe his mind and the fact that he play almost a diferent kind of tenis. Anyway, I was talking about med´s talent. No one else in the top 50 can hide the shots the way he does. Just watch closely and you will see that his rivals allways need half more second to "go for the ball" after he strikes. No one does that, just no one.

Thiem too is so so good and a guaranteed adrenaline rush. Hope, we will witness many more nail baiting like this one in near future. Yeah, I love them both and happy to seen them both in Nitto ATP final.

Medvedev moves unbelievably well across the court. I wonder how long he can sustain such physical endurance in the upcoming years.
