I have to respectfully disagree. I have tried the natural route and spent COUNTLESS time and money trying to get my fine hair like what I see KZbinrs and others achieve. Also, black stylists in my area want to charge a mortgage payment to do your hair while doing less and less, in some cases, having to wash your own hair before you come. I found a Dominican stylist 3 miles from me and my hair has NEVER been healthier and longer. I have decided natural is out for me, but I will not go back to a relaxer. I go every 3 weeks, get my hair washed, roller set and then curled. I also don't have any heat damage because the dryer is not on high heat and they use heat protectant when curling the hair. I have no chemicals and proudly rock my gray hair. Their prices are also reasonable and when I schedule my appointment, I'm in the chair at that time...period. Sorry others have had issues, but for me, it was the best decision I've made. Like you said, I'm not going to hold on to something that doesn't serve me including hair in its natural state and bad stylists.

Hey there Chloe. So glad you found a style and stylist that work best for your hair care needs. Unfortunately, time and time again I have had women sit in my chair with hair that can no longer curl by visiting theses salons. This video just serves as a warning to anyone who may be considering. In our salon curl reversion is our number one priority and for most naturals who wear their curls it is to them too. It seems as though you have decided to be a "straight natural". It may fit better for your lifestyle but at TEXTURE Education we teach the everyday woman how to confidently care for their hair at home. Im sure there are salons that or stylists within who do a wonderful job. But I have seen TOO many women who've had their hair ruined in one visit. Im glad that you realized and moved around according. I mean Im sure your stylist (cough cough) is AMAZING, who ever she may be. 😘 It's ok about the client I experienced. Every now again you just need a reminder to stand on business as the young folk say. I don't have pictures. When I went to ask her to send me some if she was willing she then let me know that she went home and cut it again herself. 🙄

Unpopular Opinion: I’m a Dominican and I believe that if your natural hair is curly and your straightening it on a regular bases you’ve already damaged the integrity of your hair regardless of what nationality your stylist may be. Curly hair is meant to be curly not straight therefore your already going against it’s nature.

Hey there. Yes I agree. This video doesn’t go full in to depth on the full spectrum of potential threats of heat damage. But I must say it’s a direct correlation between the two for the clients I’ve served and specifically the one I mentioned in the video. It’s not an unpopular opinion it’s facts and I appreciate you for giving more perspective to the conversation here. Definitely going against nature for sure.
