What do you think about Evaristo Morales? I started investing there. Piantini if of course great but it’s already super developed with no land left to build on. Also see more price appreciation per square meter in Evaristo Morales compared to Naco, Seralles etc
@dankerchum8 ай бұрын
@@stevegreene94 my personal take is that Evaristo Morales likely gets you a higher ROI, but is a bit riskier. If I'm choosing where to live, I choose Piantini. For some people that's a totally different neighborhood.

Me parece enfermizo y clasista.

Metro Country Club? Santo Domingo Nautiical Club? That is just in the east. Santo Domingo itself has many more areas you could has included shots of. Isabel Villas, Vista del Oeste, Alameda, Ciudad Modelo Mirador Norte, Altos de Arroyo Hondo Ii, Viejo Arroyo Hondo are only a few additional ones I could think of. What really bothers me is that nowhere in the Cibao is included. You’re going to have to make one only of the Cibao region, my friend. You can’t leave out many areas of Santiago such as La Trinitaria, Quintas de Pontezuela, Los Samanes, Villa María, Cerros de Gurabo and more in that city alone. Then there are more places in Jarabacoa, La Vega, San Francisco de Macorís, Puerto Plata, Sea Horse Ranch, Bonao and many more. Though less, there are many nice places also in the South. Check out the southern half of Baní, Palmar de Ocoa, Puntarena… Nice concept but very limited with what you show of this side of the Dominican Republic.

Yes. What almost nobody who comes here as a tourist gets, is that TOURISM HOTSPOTS WERE DEVELOPED IN POOR AREAS to help those communities who used to live from sugar cane plantation and agriculture. The surrounding communities of beach resorts and such are definitely 3rd world. Yet Santo Domingo is a city of almost 4 million people. Sure there’s bad areas even slums on the outskirts, but this is a major business and culture center and the buggest economy in central america and xaribbean. Very diversified. Also Santiago is a major city. People get surprised when they ser we have a metro system… out own highly developed financial, retail and manufacturing sectors… yes, upscale living is a thing here fir MILLIONS of people.

These are pockets of wealth, product of rapid growth whose benefits are concentrated in very few people. The other side, which is the much bigger side is poor and burdened by inflation, poor wages, bad services, crime and corruption.
@IvanLopez058 ай бұрын
That happens in every country, at different levels, but it happens. This is not exclusive of the D.R.

@@IvanLopez05 Absolutely right, but the gap between the rich and the poor has grown faster than any other country in the world. This a statistical fact.

You're completely right... those happy few ( 10% ?) don't represent the country. this would be as representing Casa de Campo representitive for the DR... DR where unfortunatly still 70% is to be concidered as poor... this is without any doubt still third world... by the way I do live in the DR !

I completely agree and I am Dominican.
@IvanLopez058 ай бұрын
@@McDidi58 Thats false, where are you getting those numbers? Try real numbers and sources next time. The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) states that about 30% of Dominicans still live in poverty. In 2021, 2.3% of the population was multidimensionally poor, and 4.8% was vulnerable to multidimensional poverty. That’s far from 70%, and being middle class or rich Dominican doesn’t make you less Dominican.

Many people still believe that in the Dominican Republic people are transported on horses, that there are no electricity, telephones, etc. However, Santo Domingo is the most advanced city in Latin America, including the Caribbean. We have subway, cable car, public transportation, luxury shopping malls, luxury cinemas, luxury buildings, you will see all the latest model cars on the streets, international clothing brands, beaches. The only thing that santo domingo should change is the politics, otherwise it would be a second Japan in the world. Greetings from Canada, I am Dominican.

Having lived in over 4 us states, south korea and Dom Rep, there isnt a city in dom rep that surpasses united states quality of life. Dom rep has about 3-5 trillion dollar investment before it can be considered against united states quality of life. Wasn’t it a few months ago that SD was under water, specifically the areas you mentioned, half million dollar cars , apartment tower basements submerged under water. SD needs LA River ( CA) style investment to curb those floods, and redo of the electric grid so a cable doesnt fall with the lightest winds. That among dozens of other things, high speed rail system, expansion of roads, better law enforcement, education from K-12 and specially university. Not to mention sales tax of 18-60% is mind blowing.

Have You see what happend to Dubai with the rain? Thanks for your help
@Lisandro.Lantigua8 ай бұрын
@@carlosblk been to dubai, qatar, jordan they get very little rain on a yearly basis, they invested in rain technology to increase their rain fall. While they were not equipped with the canals for the volum of water that dropped in less than 12 hours ( 250mm of rain & record for past 75 years) what is good about their government is that they correct issues swiftly. In comparison, dominican republic rains year round, sometimes more when not in hurricane season yet no correction of any problems by any one. That is fact amigo.

@@Lisandro.Lantigua have you even traveled within the United States? I love car trips and when we travel through the US I see some states and towns that look worse off than third world countries. Quality of life in many places here in the US is far worse off than in DR. Many Dominicans don’t need to come here because they’re well off.

La gentrificación va a acabar con los locales
@geogmz82778 ай бұрын
😂 what gentrification? Most Dominicans own! Don't rent and there's no property taxes. So how are you pushing them out?
@dankerchum8 ай бұрын
I see too many people using terms without knowing what they mean. You cannot “gentrify” Piantini, Los Cacicazgos or similar areas. Gentrification means changing the character of poor areas with wealthy residents moving in. But these areas were already wealthy, it’s just that there are more high-income Dominicans each year that prefer to live there. If you think Los Cacicazgos or Piantini are some kind of expat enclaves, you haven’t been to DN in a while. It’s mostly successful Dominicans that live here, but for some reason there is a significant portion of Dominicans abroad that are writing factually incorrect statements like this.
