The Dominican Republic is by far one of the best countries to live-in in 2024, as long as you have a bit of money though. For those who don't have a lot of money, the opportunities are being created as the country raises out of poverty. Unfortunately a lot of Dominicans who live in the country aren't educated enough nor do they understand how the system works, so they leave to other countries seeking a better life. As a Dominican raised in the US now semi living in the DR, I can see that It isn't easy to raise out of poverty in the DR, I see the day to day struggle that people go trough to make a buck, but I can also see that that's also due to lack of education, since I see how a lot of Venezuelans have moved to the country with nothing and are doing pretty good for themselves.

When I said give us a break with the poverty issue, I wasn't referring to Dan Kerchum; on the contrary, I appreciate dearly his comments and insights; I was talking about the naysayers who never see or say anything good or positive about our great country. Is that clear? Blessings.

People in the USA don't want to accept that the DR has a large middle and upper middle class that is thriving. Also a significant rich and millionaire sector that drives the economy.

Dominican Republic is not like it used to be; it is highly advanced now, with a lot of technology and economic progress. According to the World Happiness Report, it ranks above many highly developed countries because people are happier here.
