I was actually looking for the manga for the series! Can you please tell me what it's about? I realize it's by the same dude who made Ghost in the Shell and appleseed, a little known project of his. I fell in love with the series apple seed when I was 8 years old, when I was introduced to my first r-rated film. Granted it was the remake in 2004, but I still loved it. I will never ever say that film is bad, because like how so many people never claim that pokémon is bad even though intrinsically is, because there was a part of their childhood, apple seed is a huge component of what got me into seinen anime and manga.

The Ghost in the Shell movie really isn't great. Bastardized Shirow's vision and style. Appleseed and Tank Police are much better representations of his style.
@steadholderharrington90356 ай бұрын
@@peridot9987 You just have to remember that Shirow, Masamune also did G.I.T.S and G.I.T.S.: 2nd Gig, as well as G.I.T.S.: Solid State Society in his later years, and his 3 G.I.T.S. anime movies were pretty much spot on. The only move that got bastardized was the Live-Action "Remake" with Scarlett Johansen filling the titular role of Major Kusanagi, Motoko.

Masamune Shirow was partially inspired to create Tank Police by news footage he saw from South Africa of the heavily militarized police over there during apartheid.
@AlanGChenery9 ай бұрын
The US has had law enforcement with tanks since roughly the time Dominion was made. The ATF and FBI both had armoured vehicles without a main gun, for breaching walls etc, and on occasion (like wako in 93) they would just use straight military assets (including multiple tanks and APCs in that case).

I'm thinking how it would look live action. If they were to do a live action using American actors, right off the bat: The Rock can play the squad leader, "Britain"; Jack Black can play the criminal leader, "Buaku"; Leona Ozaki, the lead character can be played by Orphan actress, Isabelle Fuhrman (I haven't thought through who all the characters can be played by, but, these actors would be the pick. Just saying...)

Ditto. Only tone deaf weeaboos would think this sounds better. The English version gave the song more personality. This sounds like an opening for an entirely different anime or some background music for an 80s bar. Doesn't make me think of a tank-driving police force at all.
@ramonantoniobennett-ryuuke63015 жыл бұрын

@juraiknight9 жыл бұрын
***** Right? Plus, the show wasn't really all that serious. I mean, Leona throws daggers at a suspect while wearing a bunny suit to interrogate him! So I think this style of music hits the theme better; kind of a quirky off the wall 80's police show. With tanks!
