The most basic warriors also have high enough map move to not slow down your sacreds, that’s the only reason I’d ever build them

They do have their uses as either arrow or lance catchers, certainly in the early game. They also are fairly inexpensive in terms of gold and give siege chaff that doesn't require mage turns. They're almost certainly not the star of the nation, but they do have some uses! Plus if you do get to the point where you have hundreds of them with flaming arrows then those slings do add up!

Slingers with shields will usually beat early age archers most of who do not have good armor, and slings are better in Dom 6

Awesome new format when describing units ❤

Glad you like it! I could probably do some more work to spruce it up a little but glad to hear you enjoy it more than the in game showing!

@@ChazzyBurger for sure it's a huge improvement. Can't wait to see where you go with it. If I could make one suggestion, it's to somehow incorporate the icons for units' special abilities. I think it would enhance learning to be able to match icons in game 😊

Sure, a macuhuitl is "only" made of wood and volcanic rock, but obsidian is absurdly sharp, and that's a big stick.

Very good video as always. I might have to try them now in my journey of learning to be good at the game :D. I am currently trying to master playing Eriu, but I feel like I might be doing something wrong, these videos always help with getting me on track and correcting mistakes tho! Any plans for Eriu or some other MA Elfs?
@ChazzyBurger7 ай бұрын
I'll admit MA Eriu isn't on the list, i'm currently trying to focus on what nations I have experience with in multiplayer first before going into other nations I've played in singleplayer. I will try and see if I can get into a game with them in the meantime and get back to you when I can!

@chazzyburger I've always thought that EA Mictlan is by far the best mesoamerican nation to play Scales. (yes, good scales for mictlan). In the MA & LA your opponents & indie troops are just too strong, but EA your generic troops are quite decent, lots of slings & cheap units, and your Moon Warriors can smack the rare heavily armored troop around With low EA population, having blood sacred access is not a guarantee for lategame survival. You hellbless your jaguars and you just wont have the population to field both mages & sacreds like you can in LA. Instead, i think you should use your blood access to summon reanimators, assasins, onaqui, & Tzitzimitl. With magic you'll be able to have decent research as mictlan, growth can keep your pop up, and Order will let you spam turkeys & flaming arrows slingers. In theory, this should make a more reliable, consistent nation but perhaps weak to early rushes if you can't get flaming arrows out in time. However, I'm not good or brave enough to test this theorycrafting in a real game. @chazzyburger Thoughts?

You could certainly try them with scales, and out of the three ages EA is the one to go for, as you say their competition is probably the least equipped, though you are fighting against more mythical units like more giants etc. If you went a scales build you would really want to play to your strengths, go heavy into slingers with hail of burning embers or serpent fang arrows, though the embers would be the way to go as serpent fangs rely on damage to get the poison through. With your increased economy you can focus more on getting your forts up and mass turkeys for relatively cheap communions to follow your armies, getting buffs like barkskin off on them to improve their protection will help a lot. You probably as well want to get strength buffs through your blood as you don't have easy earth access as they'll help your slingers a lot. With a minor bless you can focus more on your Eagle warriors to help you expand as well, you'll take attrition on them but they are a major help in your initial expansion. The main idea behind a hellbless is to try and take a neighbours cap anyway to supplement your income, if you can't do that you're a little bit screwed, which this scales build can help you with. Let me know how you get on in your tests!
