Dominions 6 Randomizer - Zawet, Court of Steam Part02 (F/A/G/B Abysians)

Dominions is the best strategy game out there. It looks like fossilized ass it's true but it has incredible complexity and variability and no game in the genre quite gives the satisfaction of a good strategy pulled off.
I play with a randomizer called Nationgen to create random nations to spice up the experience, as by now I've grown too familiar with the vanilla nations. The mod can be found here:

No idea how difficult it is to alter sprites in Dom6, but the description of the Colossal Fetish reminds me very much of the animated statue of liberty in Ghostbusters 2, so it would be cool to see a reskin that turns CF into her

This nation actually looks quite strong. The mages are really solid, all the troops look strong. Really, the only major issue I can see is the primitive forts.

3:37:07 It's not very... precise but the game does show accumulated poison as a bar underneath the unit's portrait, green for poison, and blue for fatigue. There's also some dots beneath the unit sprite on the battlefield but that's only visible on zooming in i believe

I am curious whether it would have made sense to build forts around the capital, so you could have a central army to reinforce a sieged region. But I imagine it would be too costly and/or have some sort of impact on resources flowing to the capital.

If the Underground had not been an option, I would have had more above-ground forts, definitely, and I would have aggressively thrown everything I had into expanding West. I needed all the provinces adjacent to the capital unfortified however, so that I could maximize the recruitment of my sacreds, who could only be recruited in the capital.

@DDRJake ah ok. I figured having forts next to the capital might interfere. I was just thinking that maybe forts would have allowed you to free up those armies sitting around in your capital instead of defending the occasional sea invasion. But if it hurts your recruiting then that's a no-go.

Hey Jake, I don't mean to make you laugh too hard, but I could not at all figure out how to get the randomizer to work, and I appreciate random things like any astute gentleman should. Google has been spectacularly unhelpful, and I haven't any more clues to sniff out. What resource did you use to understand this sorcery, and may I scry the same cauldron?

Anything to spread the glory of Dominions. Grab the latest version of Nationgen from here: github.com/elmokki/nationgen Currently it's the 0.10.0 release Run Nationgen.jar and you should be able to go from there. If the .jar file does not work, make sure your Java version is up to date and make sure you have is up to date. I recommend updating with this version: adoptium.net/en-GB/ If you get that far and still have trouble, let me know.

Where the heck do you put the files created. I tried 'SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dominion6\Mods\' or rather I copied the mods folder generated by the .jar there. When that didn't work, I tried just the nationgen_nationname folder and I tried putting it under the data sub folder to no avail. Nothing shows up in-game menu Mods to enable and I checked every age just to be sure. Just a confused nerd. Tehehehhe.

@ appdata oaming\dominions6\mods is the directory for your mods. throw the generated nationgen folder into there.

It's such small things, but the way site searching is so tedious and doesn't give you much information and how research mages clog up your unit screen more and more as you play really bother me with Dom.
