Your channel is really - no pun intended - outside the box! Cool idea. I was so close to visiting and working in Japan at one point. I'm a Motion Capture performer and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit Japan.

Japan has weird Western ingredients in its food for the same reason that Korea does, which is because of the American military bases stationed in the countries and how we were introduced to military rations. Both countries were incredibly poor after the wars, and starving people were able to experience exotic flavors like SPAM, canned corn, Hershey's chocolate, Coke, hamburgers (including hamburger steak), canned tuna, and other preserved or dried pantry staples, which must have seemed amazing at the time. It's why you see things like SPAM musubi and taco rice in Okinawa and sweet corn in your miso ramen in Osaka. If you want to deep dive into Western-style Japanese food (yoshoku), it's a fascinating topic. We got a ton of foods from Portugal, like bread (which is why it's called pan in Japanese and ppang in Korean), and even tempura is a food technique of Portuguese origin, as is its name. A lot of our most beloved dishes, such as curry rice and tonkatsu are from Western origin. Eat up and I hope you continue to enjoy your stay!

US here, I don't eat butter on rice but my mom does. I agree, white rice needs no butter. Now, some mushroom gravy on rice it fire. My favorite pizza is a thin crust pie with sausage, mushrooms, extra cheese and jalapenos.

The chicken Karage looks very similar to the boneless chicken “nuggets” that Domino’s sells in America (the karage has more of an orange hue, but maybe that’s just lighting). Those other chicken nuggets looked sus.
