Alex isn't 'trying to sound American' now, he just switched up his style. He was still a pimple faced lil boy when he made these angsty punk records. Don't get me wrong, the older records are brilliant, I prefer them to the new stuff. But he's a grown ass man now, he's in his 30's, it'd be odd if he made an effort to look and sound the same as he did 10 years ago. A lot has changed obviously, but I don't think that means they're selling out. He's matured and so has his sound.
@justgame55085 жыл бұрын
what ball Exactly, not only is he far more mature, the music industry is completely different now. Music evolves, their first album, for me, is their best, however that album now wouldn’t sell like it did. [Verse 1] They've sped up to the point where they provoke The punchline before they have told the joke Plenty of desperation to be seen Staring at the television screen They've sped up to the point where they provoke You to tell the fucking punchline before you have told the joke Well sorry, sunshine, it doesn't exist It wasn't in the Top 100 list [Chorus] And it's the thousandth time that it's even bolder Don't be surprised when you get bent over They told you, but you were dying for it [Verse 2] She saw it and she grabbed it and it wasn't what it seemed The kids all dream of making it, whatever that means Another variation on a theme A tangle on the television and the magazine D'you reckon that they do it for a joke? D'you reckon that they make 'em take an oath That says that "We are defenders of any poser Or professional pretender around" [Chorus] And when did your list replace the twist and turn Like a fist replaced a kiss? Don't concern us with your bollocks, I don't want your prayer Save it for the morning after [Instrumental break] [Chorus] And it's the thousandth time that it's even bolder Don't be surprised when you get bent over They told you, but you were gagging for it [Bridge] Let's have a game on the teddy picker Not quick enough, can I have it quicker? Already thick and you're getting thicker Let's have a game on the teddy picker Not quick enough, can I have it quicker? Already thick and you're getting thicker [Outro] Presuming that all things are equal Who'd want to be men of the people When there's people like you?

lmao alex hasn't "changed since all the fame", just because he wears sunglasses and nice clothes and acts arrogant in photoshoots does not mean he's "a different person" or "he's full of himself." if you watch any interview from the AM era you'll she he's still the same shy boy who takes forever to finish a sentence and thinks about every word he says. lol I met alex back in October and he was so sweet and kind and he listened to what I had to say and smiled and acted genuinely pleased that I loved his music even though I'm sure he gets that every day. Alex turner is not an asshole who's full of himself, that's just his stage persona he puts on. jfc

This is hot, Alex combing his hair on stage is hot. This is amazing music, AM is amazing music. This song brought new fans to love the Arctic Monkeys, AM brought new fans to love the Arctic Monkeys. This is rock, AM is rock. Enough said.

IT pisses me off that people complain about AM so much, if you look at the video Arctic Monkeys are younger than what they where back then than now, especially compared to Whatever People say i am, thats what im not, over the last ten years almost , their voices have changed, them as people have changed, their styles have changed, eventually their AM style will change, maybe back into this, you think Alex will have the same voice as in this video in like 20 years time? impossible, people grow up and change get over it
