Outside the cafe by the cracker factory You were practicing a magic trick And my thoughts got rude, as you talked and chewed On the last of your pick and mix Said your mistaken if your thinking that i haven't been caught cold before As your bit into your strawberry lace And then a flip in your attention in the form of a gobstopper Is all you have left and it was going to waste 1st CHORUS: Your past-times, consisted of a strange And twisted and deranged And i love that little game you had called >Crying Ligtning< And how you like to aggravate the ice-cream man on rainy afternoons The next time that i caught my own reflection It was on it's way to meet you Thinking of excuses to postpone You never look like yourself from the side But your profule did not hide The fact you knew i was approaching your throne With folded arms you occupy the bench like toothache Stood and puff your chest out like your never lost a war And though i try so not to suffer the indignity of a reaction There was no cracks to grasp or gaps to claw 2nd CHORUS And your past-times, consisted of the strange And twisted and derranged And i hate that little game you had called >Crying Lightning< And how you like to aggravate the icky man on rainy afternoons Uninviting But not half as impossible as everyone assumes You are >Crying Lightning< --------------------solo----------------------- 3rd CHORUS: Your past-times, consisted of the strange And twisted and derrange And i hate that little game you had called >Crying Lightning< >Crying Lightning< >Crying Lightning< >Crying Lightning< Your past-times, consisted of the strange And twisted and derranged And i hate that little game you had called >Crying

@@elhombrequerie8884 They're not specifically targetting the team in front of the camera or the one behind, and no, you need to make the lights in front of the camera to match the background lightning set, color wise, I think the visual effect team did the best job they could.
@fastndd6 жыл бұрын
@@elhombrequerie8884 There's also that, but it isn't necessarily linked to the greenscreen work that is needed when there's a greenscreen plan to work on. There's that non tracked overlay smoke, non tracked water effects, the lights on the boat that are incoherent and couldn't be possible in real life. 😂 My point is that, color-wise, they did the best job they could to match the background's scene lighting
@fastndd6 жыл бұрын
@@elhombrequerie8884 I understand why you think so, but that's ill thought, I mean, the fact that it looks fake doesn't highlight the idea of "crying lightning" at all, to anybody, who would relate to that? edgy af. What was shown in this clip was the power of the fake crying to drag you down considering the whole behaviour of the girl, as it is depicted by the grandiose mother nature, and then, Alex's emotions personnified by the gigantic Alex during the solo when he's on his knees. On top of that, there's no need to say more about 'crying lightning' than what is said in the song. The visuals only seems fake because they Arctic Monkeys don't really care about it at all.

Everyone has their opinions on which albums are best and how their music has progressed. You can't say AM is the worst as a fact. It's your opinion. Therefore, people can think different. Bands can't do the same thing forever, they gotta mix it up. I absolutely love this song and newer stuff too. I think some people fail to appreciate that bands would not survive if they don't change from album to album.

What a band! There's people here bleating on about 'the way they used to sound', to my ears they've progressed with every album which is surely natural? I'm a fan of their stuff period and Alex's lyrics are brilliant modern poetry but generally speaking I'd rather a band develops than churn out the same formula ad infinitum. When you listen to their debut then play 'AM' you can see how far they've come.
