Another brilliant video Dom! One of the things I love so much about it is that as a newbie, this helps me to educate my ears and understand the order of the process to improve the way the vocals sound with everything else that's going on in the track. And I appreciate that you use that particular song to work with - I love the song anyhow but I'm familiar with it now and can more fully appreciate even subtle changes that you make on it. You're a great teacher! Very grateful and appreciate all your time and guidance Dom! 👍

Thanks for this very helpful video. I like how you smile after every tweak that makes it sound better. It's all about training your ears to detect those very subtle changes even though not very noticeable they do make a difference. Keep up the good work👍

Thanks for uploading this vid man! You've done a great job explaining each steps of your chain for new audio engineers (or without any experience/studies in audio engineering) to understand. I'm new to vocal mixing and this helps me alot while mixing my upcoming rnb song (shameless plug intended :)). Def subbed, keep up with the quality content!

It seems there is no option to use Mouse Wheel for Zooming Vertically in Cubase, I think that would be more efficient than G and H, but I really appreciate your help (G and H) Dom, thank you so much! I hope you have a great day! EDIT: I'm watching Club Cubase live now and I asked Greg through the live chat if there is an option for that, he said he requested this feature too in the past, but he doesn't know either why it's not implemented yet (Vertical Zoom using Mouse Wheel short-cut-option). I hope for the best for some future versions of Cubase will have that anyways :). Thanks again and have a great day!

One of the biggest problems with Cubase. You can do this in any other software.

lol your face at 24.14. 🤣 Amazing video as always Dom, excellent presentation of the key points and how you achieve a superior mix. I think I know a great deal about mixing, but always learn a lot from your videos. You're truly a great and generous educator. Would be great to see a series of in-depth FabFilter videos - the official ones are too fast and quite difficult to follow.

Hi Dom, another excellent Video, thanks a lot. I am doing a lot of voice-over and maybe many of your followers. What do you thank about making a Video about a vocal chain for speakers/narrators? But of course with Plugins of Cubase 12? Kindest regards from Austria, Robert
@TooruChan2 жыл бұрын
It's easier to understand if you look at your regular compressor as a full band compressor, where your entire signal gets compressed! So it's only natural that if you tame/even out everything that needs to be tamed on the eq, your compressor will do a better job! Because you've already done a bit of the compressing on your eq (in which you are targeting specific frecuency areas) ;D

Be interesting to know whats you most preferred vocal chain using a choice of ANY brand plugins. Do you ever use external compressors on the way in? Maybe youve already covered this in other videos Im new to your channel and love it. very impressed. Thanks so much

@billyshakespeare16962 жыл бұрын
He has to be the owner of whatever vocal he uses so that the AI doesn’t hijack his ad revenue and divert it to someone else (not to mention the copyright strike). And he probably doesn’t want to cannibalize one of his actual releases. Just a hunch, though.

hi Dom...Double clicking intermittently works within Cubase 11 on PC windows 10. If you want to edit a MIDI part and open up the Key Editor or Rename a Track those are all things that do not work when i double click...I must insist on double click like 10 times and gave up and press the enter key. is there a solution? I tried with 3 diferent mouses wired and Wireless and all the same...Makes me lose a lot of time. do you know something about it?...thanks a lot.

The Delay into Reverb is a really important take away from all this, for me, because I kept hearing this in tracks that I love, but most tutorials on youtube don't mention this at all, they just run the delay on it's own...and I knew they were hiding this! Thank you man
