I love the little bits of manipulation in there. "Kenny and I" won this and that, when Don had at most very little to do with it. The sociopathy spoken like normalcy so you don't notice it right away. The subtle attempts to hook JR, even, speaking to cancer and family, two points very familiar to him. And the reference to Machiavelli, which is about how to rule...which he applies as how to live.

Heyman is overrated with his exaggerated and obviously affected mannerisms and enunciation. Callis is much more subtle and is so sincere that I can't tell if he is cutting a promo or is a narcissist for real. This feels like real life where you don't have to suspend disbelief and can hate on Callis without feeling like you're playing along and playing the role of a mark. With Heyman it's all theatrics and you go into his promos knowing full well that you are a mark and that feels like I'm being patronised at a subconscious level.

@@BAYBAY_316 the mistakes so far are pretty minor. The AEW plot has been great. They keep continuity with everything. Making wins have consequences and losses have consequences. Having consistent individual characters go over their journeys. And rewarding those who pay attention to small details. As for mistakes, there are some production difficulties, some moves botches rarely, some injuries and drama getting in a way of booking. And the entire TNT title run getting thrown from pillar to post. While the rest, which is more than 90% of the product has been high tier quality. From the script quality to performers talent.

I dont get why people bitch anymore. There's nothing pro wrestling can do to try the casual fan because those casual fans look down and scoff at pro wrestling. Even if you present it as serious, the majority of people who would have been fans can no longer get around the "its fake" part of it. At this point it is what is, even if you dont like Orange Cassidy and the modern style, Tonys smart to focus on it because those are the only fans still watching. The fans who want to see a fight are watching UFC.
