They talk about the GREED and it comes to mind of a story I heard long ago: A rich man came to a tribe on the steppe and wanted to buy some land, the elders said "Ok, you can have all the land you can walk off from here and back from sunrise to sunset", the man accepts and walks off at sunrise the next day to claim his land. He comes across rich fields and plants his stakes, then moves on untill he finds a river with fish and game, here he stakes his claim. He sits down to rest from his labor and falls asleep, awakening he sees the sun going down and must hasten back, hurrying back he stumbles in a hole breaking his leg. The Elders waiting for his return decide to go and find him the next day, following his stakes they find his life less body, being of kind heart they buiried him and went back to the village. How much land did the man need? 6 feet. The moral being....Be content with what you have, remember.. "you leave this world with more than what you came into it with!"

Thanx to the town of Gainsville for providing such wonderful artists.(pay no attention to the numbers you see) 34:02

The Eagles are a band I truly love. They way they treated Felder was a crock. Don Felder wrote the music for Hotel California with the phenomenal guitar rift. Henley, Frey, and Felder wrote the rest. Felder made the major contribution to the biggest hit they ever had. The royalties made to Felder every time they hit the first note on the song are justified. He was an equal member of the band. A full partner. His firing was a huge mistake. Henley and Frey seemed to forget that. They also manage to forget that their butts were not gold. So they had solo hits. Big deal. Their egos were bigger than their bank accounts. Their music was fantastic. Felder played a big part in that.

Hotel California is the song that separates them. It even makes the other songs they wrote earlier more definable. It makes the group somewhat ”devilish”. It brings everything together in some sense. Even King of Hollywood would never had been written without it. It has the aura of another side of California, the ”dark side”. Great song, great lyrics. Kudos to Felder AND Frey+Henley for writing it. //Niclas from 🇸🇪

Don has NEVER gotten his just rewards regarding his musical ability. He is fantastic in person . Just seems like a class act every time I seen him. Give Frey and Henley credit that was probably their smartest move ever. Love the Eagles but they were BETTER with Don in the band . 😊Is there anyone left on the planet that hasn’t listened to Hotel California solo of Walsh and Henley, Best ever … run through your mind for days after you hear any of it . Keep on Trucking Don !!!

Don Felder deserves a better interview. I don't believe Rick Beato has interviewed him yet. I think that could be amazing.

It is such a shame that Felder was fired from The Eagles. The man is one of the great guitarists in rock, he is indeed a capable songwriter, and he was co-owner of The Eagles, since whenever.

His 'rented' house in Malibu was his purchase of the biggest Ranch in Malibu next to Olivia Newton John..Susan Felder came to see our band every night w Julie Bier..She wore gold when everyone was wearing Silver..Don drive a Porsche in '76..Aloha

In 1975 I saw Rufus, the Eagles and the Rolling Stones in Kansas City at Arrow Head Stadium. Felder talks of meeting Keith Richards in Kansas City there but not playing with them. Well, he must be mistaken...I still have the ticket stub.

Did he ever play guitar in the interview???

No one in the band questioned whether Felder was a great player and played historic solos on their great songs, including Hotel California. Glenn Frey made it pretty clear in an interview that I saw that Felder wanted equal royalties share and Frey didnt want to give it to him, since he didn't write the songs. Now, you can argue how important historic lead solos are to songs, I understand that. But I also understand a writer not feeling he needed to share a straight percentage with a non-writer. This is how bands get wrecked frequently, over royalty splits.

Nowhere is it said this was about royalties but rather about the contract to share equally the income generated by the Band! This was not about royalties but about a legal agreement that was not followed by Frey and Henley!

I like Don Felder, he is the sound ⚡️🎸of “One Of This Nights”, my intro to The Eagles, but Don Henley and Glenn Frey went a long long way without him.
