Glenn Frey has been gone for over 5 years. I can’t even express how much the music of the Eagles meant to me. His song ‘The new kid in town’ is a masterpiece. Rest In Peace Mr Frey❤️.

What a sweet interview! Thank you for uploading. And thank you Dan Patrick for leading Glenn to talk about how "mysterious" the Eagles were back in the early 70's. After buying an album, the only way to figure out which handsome boy sang which song was to go to a concert. And Glenn was the charismatic, chatty, handsome frontman. Rip dear beautiful Glenn Frey.

Glenn looks fairly well here. Amazing how fast someone can go down hill health-wise when they are fragile. He was not in great health last few years of his life. This Dan Patrick interview was in April 2015. He died in Jan 2016, less than 9 months later. I saw The Eagles in concert in Little Rock 3 months after this interview, in late July, 2015. The Little Rock concert was their next to last before Glenn died (Last concert was in Bossier City, LA). Glenn died less than 6 months after the Little Rock concert. Saw Tom Petty in same venue and he died 6 months after that. Bad coincidence. Loved them both. Great contributions to music.

Saw the Eagles when they opened for YES I can still hear Glen say. "Welcome and Good Evening, we're the Eagles from Los Angeles." Everyone was standing around after the show and talking about YES but also the buzz was "Man that lead in band was great!" Little did they know it started a lifetime love affair with the Eagles. I usually saw them once or twice a year. And yes, I wept when he died like I had lost a dear friend. RIP Glen Frey.

He died relatively months after this interview he was put in the worse hospital, anything in NY is garbage, Gosh he died from complications with colitis? he couldn't sht because of the meds for rheumatoid arthritis, my grandpa had the same diagnosis PLUS prostate cancer, my grandpa lived until 95, we treated his colitis with food refined grade coconut oil, and we got clean as a weasel, Glen was in my opinion left to die and there's even rumors of elderly abuse by letting him soiled in his bed( security guard whistle blower wasn't seen again at the hospital) , i don't get what's the deal with his wife's lawsuit if she put him there and she didn't knew he was being treated that way, nah all she's doing is getting good pr to sell more records because posthumous records sell even more than when the singer is alive.

A very underrated guitarist. Check out the live performance of "Midnight Flyer" from 1974, and the beautifully understated lead guitar he composed and played on the studio recording of Timothy B. Schmit's "I Can't Tell You Why." I can't think of another guitar solo that so perfectly complements the lead vocal. Most fans don't realize that Don Felder in concert was just duplicating what Glenn Frey created in the studio.

Frey was terribly wrong on stiffing Don Felder. Personal problems should have been set aside, because egos are bigger than mountains. But Don Felder's guitar work was equally a VOICE on Eagles music as Frey or Don Henley's vocals on songs. You could not and cannot separate Eagles music and not accept Don Felder's guitar riffs. The Eagles were good but Felder's input put them over the top best. It's a crying shame that Frey and Henley both stabbed Don Felder in the heart with vindictive decisions of exclusion. Don Henley and Frey should never have put "politics" into the Eagles situation when they inserted their own personal opinions on outside matters into Band members personal time.

Eagles took a lot of shit for being too 'slick', being too 'studied'. Gimme a break. Not everyone sits on a stool and vents his spleen with a guitar. These guys WERE slick. They played their asses off, especially live. I'm sorry people aren't 'inspired' by them, but challenge their musicianship and the quality of the product they put out on vinyl and it's obvious you know nothing about the record business, and probably nothing about the music business either. I love acts that seem like they're spilling their guts and touch an emotional chord. I also like bands that can play their cojones off and have good singers taking the helm. You simply can't discredit the Eagles as a bad band. You can only argue that they don't touch you 'there'.

What is the truth? I believe that he's really a control freak. Fear is one of his surnames. He and Don did things that I never would like one of my friends to do, but hey... I didn't like the eagles for their characters, not because of their interviews, I like them for their music. Yes, it's true, Hotel California wouldn't be born without Don Felder, but also without Glenn, Randy, and Don. All this stuff about who did what, draws away the attention of what it really was... A great band, who founded a big part of my youth. No one can take that away anymore!

Say what you will about the inner squabblings of the Eagles over the years, but Glenn Frey was one half of the American Beatles songwriting duo!!!(Don Henley) We lost a musical genius when we lost Glenn Frey!!!😢

I think that’s why Glen was always down on Felder... because he might have been a little jealous of his ability but I love them both and wished they would have got along.

Bullshit! Fielder was a great guitar play, but Glenn was the BOSS! The Eagles was HIS band... he started it, he named it, he led it... And by God, he could do as he seemed fit! Must have done something right....

Why are all the rock n rollers dying? Ya know I have watched the people in the concerts of all these legends and it is made up of old and young. Young people still like good rock and roll, that's why people like the rolling stones make a gobillion dollars for every show. Why don't people make good music any more? Young people want it but all they are given is this plastic shit they play on the radio. STOP dying guys, when you're all gone it's over with.

I LOVE Glen Frey. G-D bless his soul. Humorously I noticed and counted the number of times he says "YOU KNOW". Part 1 had 65 times (at around 11 minutes) and Part 2 had 52 times (at around 16 minutes). TOTAL: 117 times!! of "YOU KNOW" ( in about 27 minutes) if I did not miss any of them :)))) RIP Glen.

+American only. It can give the user a drug high for one as I can readily attest to. AND it can by knocking out an inflammatory condition also make one feel better even if that's temporary ( which again I can attest to).

The only way to see the groups you liked in the 70's was to go to a show or Don Kirshners Rock Concert or Midnight Special, there was a mystique that doesnt exist with todays artists. 70's were the greatest, for music and everything else.

In '94 I lived in Malibu. One Sunday morning I heard most excellent rock music being jammed (drum/guitar only) from across the canyon. Sounded SO good I wondered WTF? Couple years later I learned it was Don Henley's house. I then realized, wow...that was Joe Walsh jamming with Henley to test waters for Eagles reunion -- which hadn't been announced yet.
