Glenn looks fairly well here. Amazing how fast someone can go down hill health-wise when they are fragile. He was not in great health last few years of his life. This Dan Patrick interview was in April 2015. He died in Jan 2016, less than 9 months later. I saw The Eagles in concert in Little Rock 3 months after this interview, in late July, 2015. The Little Rock concert was their next to last before Glenn died (Last concert was in Bossier City, LA). Glenn died less than 6 months after the Little Rock concert. Saw Tom Petty in same venue and he died 6 months after that. Bad coincidence. Loved them both. Great contributions to music.

A very underrated guitarist. Check out the live performance of "Midnight Flyer" from 1974, and the beautifully understated lead guitar he composed and played on the studio recording of Timothy B. Schmit's "I Can't Tell You Why." I can't think of another guitar solo that so perfectly complements the lead vocal. Most fans don't realize that Don Felder in concert was just duplicating what Glenn Frey created in the studio.

Frey was terribly wrong on stiffing Don Felder. Personal problems should have been set aside, because egos are bigger than mountains. But Don Felder's guitar work was equally a VOICE on Eagles music as Frey or Don Henley's vocals on songs. You could not and cannot separate Eagles music and not accept Don Felder's guitar riffs. The Eagles were good but Felder's input put them over the top best. It's a crying shame that Frey and Henley both stabbed Don Felder in the heart with vindictive decisions of exclusion. Don Henley and Frey should never have put "politics" into the Eagles situation when they inserted their own personal opinions on outside matters into Band members personal time.
@mikeziegler33654 жыл бұрын
I've always said that Frey and Henley had no right to expect Felder to play for free in order to support their own political agenda. If it meant so much to them, they should have paid Felder out of their own pockets or performed without him.

Eagles took a lot of shit for being too 'slick', being too 'studied'. Gimme a break. Not everyone sits on a stool and vents his spleen with a guitar. These guys WERE slick. They played their asses off, especially live. I'm sorry people aren't 'inspired' by them, but challenge their musicianship and the quality of the product they put out on vinyl and it's obvious you know nothing about the record business, and probably nothing about the music business either. I love acts that seem like they're spilling their guts and touch an emotional chord. I also like bands that can play their cojones off and have good singers taking the helm. You simply can't discredit the Eagles as a bad band. You can only argue that they don't touch you 'there'.

+American only. It can give the user a drug high for one as I can readily attest to. AND it can by knocking out an inflammatory condition also make one feel better even if that's temporary ( which again I can attest to).

The only way to see the groups you liked in the 70's was to go to a show or Don Kirshners Rock Concert or Midnight Special, there was a mystique that doesnt exist with todays artists. 70's were the greatest, for music and everything else.

Frey and Henley ruined what could have been a long running masterpiece of a band! They got too greedy and wanted too much control and money...

Sad to think that nine months later he was dead. My favorite musician and singer by far. He was the Eagles.

He doesn't look sick at all. In less than a year he would be gone. How sad.

The Eagles like Don Henley says was always “Glen Frey’s” band. Such a great voice, such a great songwriter, and such a presence! There will never be another Glen Frey! RIP a Glen my man! Thank you for being the KING!

In '94 I lived in Malibu. One Sunday morning I heard most excellent rock music being jammed (drum/guitar only) from across the canyon. Sounded SO good I wondered WTF? Couple years later I learned it was Don Henley's house. I then realized, wow...that was Joe Walsh jamming with Henley to test waters for Eagles reunion -- which hadn't been announced yet.
