Wow. Thank you for posting this. What a find. He was a genius, and totally under rated. One of the most tasteful and subtle players ever, as well as a fantastic composer.

His version of "What is this thing called love" is a marvelous exposition of how harmony can be the soul of a piece just like melody.

Thanks Peter. Read about this two weeks ago. Thanks on behalf of all fans!! Also a big thanks for all the great music you gave to us. Grew up listening to Steps. From that moment on I kept listening to Mike Brecker and started building my Brecker collection. Again thanks, Louis PS, please keep posting those great pictures from the past :-)

Too bad the audio quality of this is so poor----even so, it's really great to see and hear two giants again (Michael and Don). Grolnick was/is my favorite instrumental writer and a very underrated player. Remember "Uncle Bob"? Both gone way too soon.....

I don't know, he was so busy with other projects and some production work also. One of the most wonderful and versatile musicians I can think of.

A great pianist/keyboardist - he plays keys on John Scofield's Seminal 1985 release 'Still Warm' (he was also the album's producer)and Clavinet on Steely Dan's classic track 'Kid Charlemagne'
