This video should be called " Michael Brecker talks about John Coltrane".

Ariel Sotelo Keep in mind that the reason he’s talking so much about Trane is because the interviewer is so focused on the subject.

I like how he avoided the cliche, both in the way he talked and his playing. He mentioned Eric Gravatt as an important figure in Philadelphia. Gravatt was the perfect drummer for the early phase of Weather Report.

It's a little annoying that the Frenchman spends the entire interview asking Michael questions about John Coltrane. Maybe we're interested in Michael Brecker and his contributions and innovations.

Good interview, but Coltrane Coltrane Coltrane. Somewhere into the 14 minute mark, the guy starts to ask a question and I am thinking, OK, he is going to ask, what 3 things do you like most about John Coltrane. I wasn't very far off.
