I remember watching this episode. I jumped up, screaming like a deranged banshee: "MY BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN, BABY!" From that moment on in that episode, Nash Bridges became a Miami Vice episode for me. The faint Miami Vice theme playing in the background actually brought me to man-tears. I grew up watching Miami Vice (the show premiered when I started high school and ended when I graduated), so it was a BIG part of my youth. The beautiful thing is that Johnson and Thomas are still friends in real life to this day.

I remember a few subtle references to Miami Vice, like the bad guy named Elvis (Crockett's pet alligator) who operated out of Miami😊 and Nash giving Rick a ride to the airport at the end. That wasn't just Nash and Rick or Crockett and Tubbs walking away together, that was DJ and PMT walking away together, friends to this day.

@@ComputerLearning0 I don't know the normal theme tune to Nash Bridges, but I suspect the cymbal sound you hear at the very start of this clip - when Don and Phillip meet - is a sample of the Miami Vice intro. We will remember how Miami Vice started with that cymbal sound - that is another subtle reference in this episode of Nash Bridges to how Don and Philip were partners in that show.

It’s the TV Cop Show equivalent of a Simon & Garfunkel reunion. The music, the powerboat chase, the rock star Meatloaf, was very reminiscent of Miami Vice and made me miss it even more! Strangely Philips character didn’t really have much to do as it was a one off. There was an emptiness to it sadly. The Cheech and Chong part was very funny.

I watched "Nash" for the first time last year and now go out of my way to see it daily ever since! NB is the perfect blend of heart, comedy and action (imo)! Its cast is SO well-suited (oh, man! the cloz!) the way the actors/ characters all complement each other... I feel it's very nearly the perfect series! Ya gotta love how you almost feel like you're in the backseat of that yellow Cuda with the wind blowing thru your hair!! Is it maybe bcuz Don's always been my heartthrob, LOL?? To sum up my feelings: I've been on a rollercoaster ever since hearing they were going to work on a reboot -- then not -- then... -- kinda like that! I would (a thousand times over) prefer a NASH return to a Miami Vice reboot, Bubba!
