I bough this in VHS back in the 90's, just starting to appreciate what it has to offer. Better late then never.

Excellent teacher, being well spoken helps so much. Chord movement is difficult for most players who want to make the leap from rock to jazz but don't have a private teacher. This video demonstrates the fundamentals for those with time and dedication.

Nice but if you play those bottom-heavy chords voicings with a bass player he will get irritated

Antarblue tell his ass to go high lol
@l.harrison97257 жыл бұрын
not really - after U learn the chords, then U can drop the bass notes playing with a combo / big band, & use your discretion when U need a full sound (ie solo chord melody perhaps) Opens up space for many possibilities. When there is no bass, ( solo, accompanying flute. violin, horns, etc.), guitar has all the bass lines & bottom. Wheee!

it's not a stupid comment, it is something that actually happens in real life with groups, but I guess you have no fucking idea of what it is to play with other people

My strongest (and only) criticism of Don Mock is personal! I knew him at GIT and he was way before his time then and did not look the way he looks in these videos. I wish there was many more hours of coverage of his playing! That is it, I know he made the recordings. Don, if you read this, publish some of those recordings...polished or not! Please!!!!
@mozartez8 жыл бұрын
I have several his books, and I agree with you that he is amazing guitar player in jazz..but I don't have his records..
