I wish I could see Don Muang Airport in it's full glory. Every time I fly international I mostly use Suvarnabhumi.

@ArsenalkungTh Noob because Suvarnabhumi Airport is very congested. As for Don Mueang, there are currently few international services and more domestic flights. I know because I'm Thai.

It was always a dream for me to fly on a 747 to Bangkok. First over Bangkok to see the city in its full glory. Land at Don Mueang Airport and then crab a taxi to Bangkok center and enjoy the good life. Unfortunately the first part is no longer possible. I hope Thailand does not change to much the coming years

First flew into Don Muang in 1992. I couldn't believe it when I noticed a golf course next to the runway when we landed. I wonder if the course is still there as only been to Swampy since DM changed to receiving mainly domestic flights apart from an unscheduled landing I flew on and landed in the evening a few years ago. The pilot did not warn us but I could tell we had landed at the wrong airport when we started to taxi. We stopped for an hour and then resumed the flight to Swampy.

Looks like from the 80's when domestic air travel was rare and the airport served mostly international flights. The golf course owned by the Thai Air Force is bisected into parts by the runways.

You know in former Don mueng international airport is one of many airport in the world that serve almost every airline in the world but now at Suvarnabhumi airport there are many airline that not serve at Bangkok anymore including Nepal airline,martin air,I think Aeroflot and specially AIR KORYO you know air koryo serve only few airport but Bangkok includes it. That is the pride of Thailand.Thailand is the land of freedom

No need to be expanded or upgraded anymore because we have Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan,the nearest province to Bangkok. And Don Mueang Airport itself can't do that due to no space caused by city growth and bad city planning.
