I know this will be very enlightening series. It says a lot about you to show the good, the bad and the ugly of in building commissions. I served the public for 40 plus years.(Dentist) It is tough. I now enjoy woodworking as a hobby. I do things for friends but never for money. The only complaints I hear from my wife is when I'm not diligent about cleaning off before coming into the house.

This is why I ALWAYS mill my own stock. I appreciate that you share the issues that come up when building furniture. A tip on jointing, I always alternate which face goes against the fence so even if the fence is not 90 degrees it won't matter.

Thanks for the video Chad. I have never filmed anything but I used to build model RC airplanes and sometimes I would take pictures and do a forum "blog" to document the build and any modifications I made to the original design. It only doubled the time it took to build the model airplane...LOL I can only imagine the effort it takes to produce a video of this caliber. Well done. I really enjoy seeing your methodologies. You mentioned that many people commented on the design as clean looking, elegant, or simple...all being complementary in nature. Clean looking yes, elegant yes, simple oh heck no. This table is very advanced woodworking and for it to look right the fit and finish have to be very close to perfect. On a side note you got some crazy skills with that power planer, I know to get better with any tool I have to use it but every time I get my power planer out I usually regret it ... LOL

Great information, Chad. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. I'm 72, have been a hobbyist woodworker for over 30 years and I'm still able to learn and pick up new tips. My question is this - do you use the inside/outside jointing method for the edges of the top? Stay safe (and keep on dancin'). Bill

Thank you, Andrew. I have to admit, this project really pushed me outside my comfort level. And I'm glad it did because I learned a lot. And learning new things is so very exciting for me.

As always Chad I learn something from your videos. Even though I watched your other videos on this table there were a couple of good gems on this one. I’ve seen a lot of ways to make long curves but the way you did it using spring clamps along with having some check points along the length of the curve will be helpful for my next project requiring a long curve.

Can we get more geometry videos please? Preferably a video on how to make an odd shape, but also keep it true/square. More like make sure it’s lined up in the middle up and down and side to side. Please 😂😂😂😂 thank you

Thanks Chad. Why did you use a mix of dominoes and biscuits, rather than just the dominoes?
@ChadStanton3 жыл бұрын
I like biscuits because it gives me a little bit more wiggle room than dominos.
