Don't Be Those Guys...... 5.09.2020 Red Rock Damn, Iowa Wiper Fishing

We were fishing Red Rock dam. Launched at 5:30am to get to a spot that we usually fish. Fished it all morning with no boats in the water then we get these Douches slowly creeping up on us. After seeing me land a fish, they decided to go and anchor right where I'm casting!! Don't be that Douche Bag.... I realize its open water and I don't own the water but common sense would tell you not to go anchor at the spot that the guy has been casting..

My Dad worked on that dam from 66 to 68. We lived in Knoxville. Good to see people catching fish there.

This reminds me of the guys that I ran into back in May 2019. We were in the middle of the river where the bays started with no boats around us. We would cast out and run our bait along bottom. Started to catch fish and all of a sudden a few dudes in a boat came from the power plant bay and started to circle us trolling where we would cast.

Yeah, it gets so old when people do that. Or, if someone sees you catching fish and they get within 10' of you. So, disrespectful. I could never imagine honing in on someone's spot. But, some people have no give a shit for others.

That’s nothing I’ve been in so many spots where I can cast twice as far as the guys boat next to me .... I think what they did wrong was cut across and stop upstream of u and keep readjusting . We’re all public land owners and when done right we can all fish side by side they were asshats for running thru the hole they could of posted up on the other side of y’all and everyone could of fished the same hole 👍🏼 this spring on the Mississippi River we had 6-8 boats jigging and casting in one hole everyone had sauger and walleye for dinner .

1st of all, common sense is the keys to getting along but it's only fish so if I were you, I would have moved and stage somewhere else and fish...you were suppose to fish for fun not trying to catch to eat so once everyone starts to fish to eat then ya have a problems space...fish for fun catch what you can and enjoy the beautiful day.....I've seen all kinds of activity like this but I try to avoid problems so I moved out is that simple

Was there mid May for a few days. Got kinda lucky i guess. Managed bout 7 wipers on the first day, a few more on the second day early in the morming then they shut down the Dam mid-day, then not worth stayin anymore so we took off, lol 🤣🤣

They're closing the dams this week, after 5pm every day, to do construction work until the 14th.

@@snycustomflies4902 No. Don't go this weekend. There is a possibility that outflows will continue to be reduced this weekend that would impact the ability to use boats on the river. The lake will be available for fishing access though.
