Keep pushing. “Track is a team sport”. Schools that don’t even try and field a complete team are bad for the sport.

That is an interesting concept. I will likely do something that shows how good the best non-D1 teams are if they were to fit in at that level.

The system is definitely flawed. I love the way you analyzed it. Wish something could be done for NCAA’s like this. For example, UT has a lot of talent, but pretty much won the outdoor women’s title last year because of Alfred winning 3 events.

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it as well as the support!

They should change the scholarships so that they get one per event which would be more than now but unable to load up one event. Obviously some overlap, but would improve having an actual team. Track definitely needs some improvements.

At 2:36 you mention you could detail more how you get and then use the numbers to make up your final list, but didn't as you were sure the viewer doesn't care about it. I would love to hear about it and learn about it. I began doing stats for track in 1987 via a computer program I'd written, as I bean to compete. I wanted to make a business out of it, but long story behind it not happening. Nonetheless, I'm very interested if you're willing to share either here in comments or anywhere else. Would be a blessing. Thanks for considering & thanks for your vids

Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it! Essentially I pull the conference regional and national data for every team and then create an equation to give everyone a final score. The goal is to level the playing field with respect to “who do you play in conference/region, and who did you beat”. While still giving just due to any national caliber athletes you have. The end result is a list that gives a rough outline of how good any 1 team actually is if they faced off in dual meets against someone else. Rankings won’t win a meet of course. But they give a good idea of who has a legitimate shot to do so. Thanks for asking!

@@SCATrackandFieldThanks for taking the time to reply and giving a synopsis of what the data and contention is from your video; I thought that was wonderful and agree. I'd love to learn what the equation is you used, and where I can find the conf. & regional data. Also - if you need any help, I do this kind of thing for a living and might be blessed to see about possibly helping. Take care!
